Contrary to their tense expressions, Khal and Devion exuded a friendly demeanor. They suppressed their presence, expressing goodwill.
"This is no simple matter," Devion's voice rang, tone not arrogant as usual. "We can't thank you enough for saving our guide's friend. Let us express our gratitude."
Khal nodded at him. Ayen did not intervene. As for exposing their relationship? He did not care anymore. The fact would be known soon, after all.
"Tell us what you need. We'll grant it as long as it's within our power." Khal's tone was calm. His words almost say granting anything to Georgina.
And these were not just big words; everyone here knew that the two were capable of doing so. But of course, it was also laced with the underlying meaning of not hoping for too much.
Khal was always like that. What Georgina did gained their immense gratitude; rewarding her was a must. Yet, it was not enough to disregard anything, no matter the cost.
