"Why on my mother's name are you crying?" Amethiel asks, getting closer to Kree. "And on your knees?"
'Is it trying to gain sympathy?'
He slowed as he approached, his eyes narrowing slightly, trying to make sense of what he was seeing. It didn't look right.
It didn't fit to how it look.
It looked like it was about to start begging for forgiveness, like in those stupid stage shows his father loves so much.
That thought alone almost made him scoff.
But to Amethiel's surprise, as if he wasn't already surprised enough—
Kree bowed. It was a low bow.
It bowed to Amethiel's foot, its hands holding onto Amethiel's foot as if it was groveling.
It didn't hesitate.
It didn't seem forced.
It was just… doing it.
'What is happening right now?' Amethiel thought. He could see that the creature's shoulders were still shaking, uneven and constant, so it was still crying.
Actually crying.
"Amethiel…" Kree whispers through its tears and sobbing. "Amethiel… Amethiel…"
