Senn was released at 08:00 the next morning.

No charges.

No follow-up flags on his file.

He'd said he found the sheet on a bench, which was the truth, and the truth had been enough, which wasn't always the case but was this time, and the room breathed when Mara confirmed it.

Rell said nothing.

He wrote something in his notebook, closed it, and put it in his bag.

Nobody asked what he'd written.

Some things were private even in a basement full of people who shared everything else.

The leak kept moving without them.

That was the strange part.

They'd built something that didn't need them to push it anymore, and watching it was like watching a fire they'd started from a distance, knowing it was doing what fire did, and not being entirely sure whether that was good.

A closed band channel in Vein Four had forty-three new members by midday.

A market owner on Vein Six had started "forgetting" to submit his weekly compliance log.
