Chapter 169 - Chapter 169 Precht's Secret

"Precht, I can't believe you've fallen into darkness..."

Mavis looked down sadly at Precht, who was lying on the ground, on the verge of death. The tears streaming down her face undoubtedly represented the extreme pain in her heart.

An old friend was finally going to pass away.

"Mavis… you really are as naive as ever!"

"Magic originally came from the miraculous power of darkness. I just wanted to explore the abyss of the magical path to find the truth of this world. Only a Great Magic World is the magic world that should have existed."

"For this wish, I can give everything. It's a pity, I was just a little short."

The more Precht spoke, the more agitated he became, reaching out his hand towards the sunlight in the sky, as if he could grasp the darkness that had been dispelled.

"Is that so? It seems you've forgotten the reason for Fairy Tail's existence!"

"Magic is not defined by anyone, but comes from the beliefs and wishes realized in Everyone's heart."

"Magic is alive; it can be any form—darkness, sunlight, trees, rivers, sky… it is free."

"Fairy Tail is also free, which is why these children, relying on their beliefs and strong bonds, formed an invincible power and defeated you!"

Mavis slowly floated in the air, surrounded by light. Looking at the brilliant sunlight in the sky, what she saw was completely different from Precht; she saw a future of bright sunshine.

Precht stared blankly at Mavis, and upon hearing Mavis's words, it was as if he had returned to his youth, when his companions were all so happy and noisy. It seemed those days were indeed good!

But he did not regret anything he had done. Everyone has something they pursue.

"Still stubborn, Precht!" Mavis looked down at the Second Master, trying her best to suppress her sadness, but the tears streaming down expressed her inner emotions.

Although her tears vanished in mid-air, they still moved Precht's heart.

They reminded him of the child he had personally abandoned. Perhaps if he didn't say it now, no one would ever remember, and how cruel that would be for Mavis.

That child possessed powerful magic that belonged to neither light nor darkness; he must have survived. If he spoke, their mother and son would surely be able to meet.

"Mavis, there's something I might not say now, and it might go with me into the grave…"

Precht paused here, then looked at Mavis's lonely back and slowly said, "Mavis, actually, back then… when I sealed you in the crystal… I found… you were already pregnant."

"What… a child…" Mavis's body stiffened. She turned around incredulously to look at Precht, then slowly placed her hand on her abdomen and asked, word by word, "What did you do?!"

"That child… inherited your light magic, and a powerful… dark magic. I thought it was ominous, but I couldn't bear to kill him, so I… abandoned him."

"Now… he should still be alive somewhere in the world…!"

When Precht said this, countless streams of blood gushed from his mouth. He could only stammer out the information he knew to Mavis.

After speaking, he seemed to be relieved. His body slowly relaxed, and he stared blankly at the sky, quietly and serenely ending his life.

In his dying moments, the scenes of his past life replayed quickly like a revolving lantern, and a smile slowly appeared on his face.

Mavis stared blankly at the deceased Precht, unsure if she was thinking about that child.

Zorn also withdrew his magic; his mission was complete. Using a few tricks, he exposed the matter of August. He hoped to change that sad outcome.

That child, who had never been loved by his parents throughout his life, only wished for their love.

"First Master, are you alright?"

Zorn asked softly.

...

At the camp, the recovered Wendy was treating Everyone, but for some reason, a long line slowly formed.

Elfman: "A man also needs a little treatment."

Gajeel: "Lily, you also need Wendy to treat you. There are still some wounds here!!"

Lily: "Your injuries are more severe, Gajeel!"

Levy: "Haha, it… it seems Everyone has voluntarily lined up!" Levy said, slightly embarrassed, as she was first in line.

"It's alright, I've recovered and can treat Everyone. This is my time to shine!"

Wendy was very happy that she could help Everyone. After all the previous battles, she felt that she needed to study magic well and master it proficiently so that she could better help Everyone.

Just as Wendy was happy, an extremely seductive voice came from the side: "Wendy, let me help you~"

A pink-backed Erza, wearing a nurse's uniform, slowly walked towards the crowd, striking a pose. Erza in this appearance made Everyone's eyes light up, and they unconsciously wanted to get closer.

"Erza… this outfit of yours is a nurse… it really looks like…" Wendy asked blankly.

Levy also looked at Erza with a black line on her forehead, muttering, "She's at it again! Damn her competitive spirit!"

"You don't have the ability to heal anyone at all!" Carla complained from the side, sweating profusely.

"To determine a winner, you don't need to ask about strength, but about determination."

"What, come on, tell your big sister where it hurts, should I take your temperature, or should I give you an injection first!"

Erza held a notepad, speaking as she sat on a box, striking a seductive pose, and bending down coquettishly to ask the boys lined up opposite her.

"Oh, I thought Erza was going to do something else."

"She must be crazy!"

"But it looks like it's the real deal!"

While the boys complained, their actions were incredibly cunning. They quickly and accurately lined up on this side, even bickering among themselves for the first spot.

Even the Master joined the queue.

Gildarts, under Kana's gaze of "Try to cut in line, just try it," scratched his head and honestly stood to the side, though his eyes kept darting over there.

Laxus stood far away, occasionally looking in Mirajane's direction, as if confirming something.

And Wendy was extremely disappointed, looking at Erza's perfect curves, tears of deep envy streaming down her face.

Levy was also helpless, and with a hint of envy, she comforted her, "Well, well, well, you can rest now, Wendy."

She looked at Gajeel, who was fuming.

"By the way, where did Zorn go? I haven't seen him since he arrived!" Kana scanned around but couldn't find him, so she murmured worriedly.

"What's wrong, Kana? You miss him so much after being apart for a while!" Lucy heard Kana's murmur, gently nudged Kana's shoulder, and covered her mouth, teasing her.

The two girls were here, both embarrassed and teasing each other.

When a magic circle suddenly flashed, two figures appeared simultaneously in the magic circle.

A small figure also suddenly broke free from Erza's bandages and stood up, an astonished, aged voice suddenly ringing out: "First Master?"

...

Alvarez Empire

In a pavilion on the high wall of the royal capital.

August was holding his staff, looking worriedly into the distance: "Your Majesty, where are you now?"

"Father…."
