Cynthia was the one who came to him directly.
"What just happened?" she said, which was not a question she asked often because she usually had enough information to know what had happened without asking.
"They're in the bell," he said.
She was quiet for a moment.
"All of them," she said.
"All of them," he confirmed.
He explained Freya's observation about the depletion ceiling, the plan to run the doubling cycle in the Nest until the creatures exhausted their own mechanism, the possibility of farming the gene material from the process afterward.
She listened without interrupting.
When he finished, she looked at the bell in his hand and then at him.
"You're going into the Nest with them," she said. It wasn't a question.
"Someone has to monitor it," he said. "And the Mythic class ones that are going to develop in there aren't going to be manageable for anyone below a certain level."
"I'm coming with you," she said immediately.
