Increasing aura capacity is itself part of getting stronger, and the best approach is steady, natural training.
Ninjutsu paired with the Sharingan is especially suited for mid- to long-range combat.
Up close, the ideal situation is to use Nen while the Sharingan is active.
Right now Ronin only had the "intermediate state," but he could push this further.
He only needed to convert part of his Nen into enough chakra to sustain the Sharingan's active state.
That method was actually somewhat similar to Gyo—
Concentrate aura where you need it.
That would be Ronin's next training direction: build a solid foundation and master the method of partially converting Nen into chakra to "open" his eyes.
Zetsu helped Ronin recover stamina faster, but it still had limits.
That made him appreciate Biscuit's Nen ability even more—a god-tier skill that could shorten recovery time through massage.
Kurapika and Neon actually worked together fairly well.
Kurapika didn't like Neon's hobby, but after understanding her a bit more, he accepted her as a person.
At night, Ronin checked the results of their day's training.
Not bad.
But if they thought they could rest now, they were dreaming.
Ropes tied to stones hung above their heads—so even while sleeping, they had to stay alert.
Ronin wasn't exempt either. When the three of them woke up, all of them had bumps on their heads.
By the seventh day of training, Ronin had adapted to the weight stacking from Added-Weight Rock, and his digging became faster and more efficient.
As an Enhancer, his Nen felt smoother and more natural in use. Ren, Shu, Gyo, and Ken all became more instinctive.
But the most striking thing during the digging was Ronin's eyes.
He continuously converted Nen into chakra to feed his eye area, keeping his Sharingan active the whole time.
Maintaining the Sharingan while staying in Nen mode—ironically, the hardest part was thinking of it.
Actually doing it was only hard in one way: keeping it stable.
Ronin thought of Dragon Ball, where Goku and Gohan trained in the Time Chamber until Super Saiyan became their "normal" state.
It was the same concept—something you sustain long-term until it becomes habit.
And with the Sharingan's assistance, Ronin's control over Nen grew finer and finer.
When he first arrived to train here, maintaining Ken cost him about 9 aura units per second.
After a week with Sharingan assistance, he could reduce that to 7 units.
And 6 represented an extreme limit.
Of course, that was in training; in real combat, the number might fluctuate.
So what Ronin needed most next was actual sparring.
Unfortunately, Kurapika and Neon were still too weak—nowhere near enough to serve as his practice partners.
So Ronin could only exchange moves with his shadow clone, but it still felt like something was missing.
After all, it was basically "me fighting myself."
That afternoon, Ronin ended training early.
Because today was the day Kurapika would open Nen.
In Ronin's view, Kurapika was already strong. Recently, he'd also been keeping his Scarlet Eyes active almost constantly.
That pushed Kurapika's strength even higher.
Ronin keeping his Sharingan active improved his combat ability; Kurapika likewise felt the power boost that came with Scarlet Eyes.
If so, why wouldn't he use it?
As for disguising it, they'd already ordered contact lenses and sunglasses.
When needed, he could conceal the Scarlet Eyes with those.
Compared to the benefits of staying "open-eyed," not using it felt like wasting a gift.
Sometimes Kurapika even wondered: if the Kurta hadn't hidden their Scarlet Eyes—if they'd used them—would they still have been slaughtered by the Troupe?
As for the stamina drain, once you got used to it, it wasn't that bad.
After all, Scarlet Eyes were just a special eye state. The less familiar you were, the more strain the sudden activation put on your body.
Watching Kurapika like this, Ronin couldn't help wondering whether Kurapika's Nen ability would still develop the same way it did in canon.
The answer felt obvious: it wouldn't.
At the very least, with Ronin as his "big brother," Kurapika didn't need to think in terms of "solo exterminating the entire Troupe."
Which meant he didn't need to develop a Nen ability designed for one person to act like a full team.
As for Neon—she was a natural-born awakened type. She simply hadn't had a concept of Nen before.
After learning about Nen from Ronin, her progress became the fastest in the group.
She had already mastered Ten.
And her Nen ability began to shift with training.
Her prophecy poems still existed.
But now, when she actively used her power, even without knowing someone's name, blood type, or birthday, she could quickly write a short prophecy.
No matter how it changed, Neon's ability was still sprinting down the support route.
So Neon could only train fundamentals and learn some basic fighting technique from Ronin.
The path Ronin planned for Neon was similar to Biscuit's:
Pure support Nen, and combat through Enhancement—meaning Neon would also have to polish her physical body.
"Muscle Barbie?!" Neon looked like she was about to cry when she heard what she might become.
Her chest was already small. If she trained like that, even if she became a "transforming loli" like Ronin said, wouldn't she still be flat?
Damn it—she had standards too, okay?!
Ronin saw Neon's resentful look and chose to ignore it.
Some things that are meant to be there will be there. Things that aren't—don't force it.
And besides… small wasn't necessarily bad.
Kurapika's physical conditioning had reached the standard needed to open Nen—at least, Ronin believed so.
But waiting for Kurapika to awaken naturally would take too long.
So Ronin decided to help Kurapika awaken Nen manually, then have Kurapika and Neon train together.
For Ronin, opening someone else's Nen wasn't hard.
All he needed to do was place a hand on the target and send a small amount of non-hostile aura into their body—enough to open all their aura nodes.
After that, as long as the target could maintain Ten, there was no danger.
Even if they couldn't master Ten right away, it still wouldn't be fatal. At worst, the leaking aura would cause exhaustion or fainting.
Once there was no aura to leak, the nodes would naturally close again.
When Kurapika was ready, Ronin activated his aura nodes.
Aura surged out of Kurapika like boiling water—yet in less than thirty seconds, Kurapika brought it under control and formed Ten, wrapping it around his body.
Everything happened smoothly, like it was meant to.
When Kurapika opened his eyes again, he had become a Nen user.
