Another civilian quickly shook his head.
"No, no. That can't be it."
He lowered his voice while gesturing toward the undead patrol.
"Those things don't even have intelligence."
"Look at them. They just walk around like puppets."
The others nodded slightly.
That much was obvious.
The ordinary undead soldiers barely reacted unless given orders.
Some carried materials through the streets. Some guarded intersections, and repaired damaged buildings. But none of them ever spoke.
None laughed.
None showed emotion.
They felt more like moving corpses than living beings.
The same man continued,
"If the transformation turned people into those things, nobody would agree to it."
Another civilian scratched his beard thoughtfully.
"Maybe it's those stronger undead instead."
"You know..."
"The ones that look almost human."
Several people immediately understood what he meant.
The body tempering undead.
Some still wore armor from the battle.
