Esme's POV
The forest was unusually quiet as I walked around the land of Eindrigin. It felt heavier than usual, even if I couldn't fathom exactly why I noticed.
The last time I came here, how rude and brash the warriors were was the only thing I noticed about this place.
Eidrin brought me here to keep me away from Escanor, who was particularly clingy, but now I had a new curiosity clinging to my chest.
My legs ached from walking all the way to the spot Grandus and I had hunted, but that was the place I felt the most calmness oozing from.
If it was calm before the storm, I couldn't tell.
Something prickled at the back of my mind—I shouldn't be all the way here with Eidrin.
I knew he didn't track my movements to give me privacy, but that could easily be a problem.
"Especially if I encountered that man again," I pushed a branch of leaves aside and walked out into an open field. "Why?"
