Chapter 135 - Mokura War

The silence that settled over Gota Village after Dev's sudden interference was heavier than the falling meteors. High above the central altar of Sushmitha Kanda, the shattered void in the sky hung suspended, its jagged purple fractures pulsing with an eerie, unnatural stillness. The howling gale had died down, leaving behind a thick cloud of ash and the overwhelming metallic stench of demon blood.

In the middle of the carved-out crater, Dev stood entirely unbothered, his dark cloak swaying lightly in the ambient heat. Slung over his right shoulder was the completely limp body of his younger brother, Potnuru Rudra Ram Raj. Rudra's black sword, Rukshi, had vanished back into his spiritual vault the moment his consciousness dissolved, leaving only the fading wisps of dark aura around his hands.

Across from them, Demon Kanga remained on one knee. His shattered bone-white armor was caked in his own dark crimson gore, his massive executioner's blade lying uselessly in the dirt. His hollow, burning eyes stared up at Dev with a volatile mix of relief and utter humiliation.

"You..." Kanga coughed, dark blood leaking onto the dry soil of the village. "Why did you stop him, Dev? That boy was about to erase my soul... Why save an enemy of the Mokura Clan?"

Dev didn't even look down at the kneeling demon. His gaze remained fixed on the horizon, toward the dark, swirling vortex bleeding through the sky.

"I didn't save you because I care for your life, Kanga," Dev's voice echoed, cold, even, and stripped of all emotion. "If my brother had struck you down while trapped in that unhinged, wild mental state, his soul would have absorbed the violent corruption of your demonic core. His bloodline is still stabilizing along the Red Line. If he took your dark energy into his vessel right now, the balance of his five elemental beasts would shatter, and he would turn into a mindless beast."

Dev paused, his eyes narrowing slightly as he raised his left hand toward the sky. "Besides... your death here serves no strategic purpose for the war to come. Go back to your Supreme Commander. Tell him that the kingdom of Sushmitha Kanda has officially taken root. Tell him that if he wants the Sovereign's head, he must come down to this realm himself."

With a flick of Dev's wrist, a sharp wave of spatial energy erupted, wrapping around Kanga's wounded body.

"Tsk... You will regret this, Dev!" Kanga growled, his voice echoing through the spatial rift as his body dissolved into dark purple particles, vanishing into the upper atmosphere. "The Mokura Clan will flatten this entire province!"

As the demon disappeared, Karthik's massive defensive barrier surrounding Gota Village flickered and dissolved.

"Rudra!"

Isha's voice pierced the silence as she, Shanthi, Manasa, Ananya, and Princess Maya rushed toward the center of the crater. Behind them, Pushkal stood with his hand resting on the hilt of his blade, his eyes locked onto Dev with deep caution. The six defeated kings, still bound in heavy spiritual chains, cowered near the edge of the ritual ground, trembling at the sheer scale of power they had just witnessed.

Isha stopped right in front of Dev, her face pale with worry as she looked at her unconscious husband. "What did you do to him, Dev? Is he okay?!"

Dev gently lowered Rudra onto the soft grass near the extinguished Yagnam fire, stepping back. "He is fine. I merely suppressed his neural pathways before his dark aura consumed his mind. He was tapping into the ancestral resonance of our mother, Suna Madhura, and his body wasn't prepared for the sheer weight of his true name."

Princess Maya stepped forward, her royal crown still glowing faintly from the spent energy of the Maga Kingdom's trademark shield. She looked down at Rudra, then up at Dev, her hands trembling slightly. "His true name... Potnuru Rudra Ram Raj... How could a single mortal body contain that much dark energy without a core transformation?"

"Because he isn't just a mortal, Princess," Master Madhu's deep voice echoed as he slowly walked out from the shadowed threshold of the village shrine. He looked at the sky, where the rift was slowly sealing itself shut in the absence of Kanga's presence. "He carries the blood of pure demons, high deities, and resilient humans. Today, he claimed his domain from Ichchapuram to Vizianagaram. The heavens tried to test him, and his base form held the line."

Suddenly, Rudra's fingers twitched against the grass.

A sharp, collective gasp went through the wives as Rudra's eyes snapped open. The dull blur in his eyes was gone, replaced by a razor-sharp, intense crimson glare. He sat up instantly, his breathing heavy as he looked down at his own hands, feeling the lingering warmth of his mother's voice still echoing in the deep recesses of his soul.

"Dev..." Rudra muttered, standing up slowly as he turned toward his brother. His voice carried a dangerous, quiet heat. "Why did you interfere? I had him. I was about to split that monster into pieces."

Dev looked at his younger brother, completely unbothered by the rising pressure radiating from Rudra. "You had him, yes. But you were losing yourself, Rudra. Look at your hands. Look at your aura."

Rudra looked down. Tiny, chaotic sparks of dark purple hellfire—leftovers from Kanga's ambient energy—were trying to fuse with his natural spirit energy. Had he completed that final, psychotic strike, his vessel would have ingested Kanga's corrupted blood, destabilizing the Red Line he had worked so hard to balance with Master Madhu.

"You are a King now," Dev said sternly, pointing toward the vibrating saffron flag fluttered high above Gota Village, showcasing Lord Shree Ram's arrow pointing toward the sky. "A King does not fight like an untethered beast. You have built Sushmitha Kanda. You have forced six kings to bow, and you have bound the Kona Mani through Princess Maya. Every action you take now affects every single soul living between these borders."

Rudra closed his eyes, taking a deep, stabilizing breath. He felt the internal alignment of his five elemental beasts locking back into place along the Red Line. Dev was right. His mind had almost slipped into the dark abyss during that frenzy.

He opened his eyes, turning toward Princess Maya and his wives. "Is everyone in the village safe?"

"Not a single casualty, Sovereign," Pushkal reported proudly, stepping forward and kneeling on one knee. "Karthik's barrier held off the atmospheric fallout, and the six captive kings have been fully secured. The entire territory from Ichchapuram to Vizianagaram is quiet... for now."

"It won't stay quiet for long," Princess Maya warned, her tone dead serious as she adjusted the Kona Mani gemstone on her crown. "News of what happened here has already spread across the entire human world. The television broadcasts showed you flying into the sky and pushing back a high-tier demon. Every kingdom, every government, and every supreme demon clan now knows that Sushmitha Kanda exists—and that its King possesses power that defies logic."

Rudra walked over to the edge of the cliff overlooking Gota Village, looking out over the vast, beautiful landscape of his newly established empire. The saffron flag whipped proudly in the wind behind him.

"Let them know," Rudra declared, his voice ringing with absolute, unwavering conviction. "We built this kingdom on righteousness, blood, and the protection of our people. If the Mokura Clan or any arrogant king wants to challenge the soil of Sushmitha Kanda..."

Rudra raised his hand, his eyes flashing with brilliant, gold and crimson Sovereign light as he looked back at his brothers, his wives, and his general.

"...then tell them to bring their entire army. Because next time, I won't be holding back."
