For several seconds after Seven spoke, neither Dean nor Arion said anything.
Behind the glass, Amaru remained perfectly still beneath the medical lights while the monitors continued recording the same slow rhythm of life they had been watching since entering the room. Heart rate reduced. Respiration shallow but regular. Temperature slightly below normal.
Dormant.
The word had followed them from Alamina all the way to Snake Island.
Dean looked at the ventilation vents inside the enclosure.
"Can we stop it?"
Seven's attention shifted immediately to the live data. "Not by cutting power blindly."
Arion rested one hand against the console. "Then tell us how."
Seven looked up. "You intend to open the chamber."
"Yes."
Dean glanced toward Arion.
There was no hesitation in his expression.
