The door opened quickly, and Fu Sheng stepped in with hurried steps, his eyes immediately searching the room before settling on me.
"What happened?" he asked at once, his voice low but filled with urgency.
I did not panic.
I only looked at him and answered calmly,
"He has a fever, and it came suddenly, but I have already given him medicine and started cooling his body."
His gaze shifted immediately to the bed, then back to me, as if confirming my words against what he could see.
"Come here," I said softly.
He did not hesitate.
He walked over at once.
At that moment, Fu Jin was leaning close to me, his body pressed against my side as he held onto his brother's hand, unwilling to let go even for a second. His face still carried traces of fear, though he tried to stay strong.
Fu Sheng bent slightly and reached for him.
"Come," he said.
Fu Jin looked up at him for a brief moment, then allowed himself to be lifted.
