After a short moment, I placed the empty cup back into Zhao Yin's hand and nodded once.
"We will see you tomorrow," I said.
The eldest answered immediately.
"We will be there."
I turned slightly.
"Make sure you are," I added.
He did not hesitate.
"We will not be late."
That was enough.
Fu Sheng gave a small nod to the woman, and I did the same.
"Take care," she said.
"We will," I replied.
Without saying anything more, we turned and walked out of the house.
The path outside was quiet again.
For a while, neither of us spoke.
We walked side by side, our steps steady.
Then I said,
"The two girls…"
Fu Sheng glanced at me.
"What about them?" he asked.
I kept my gaze forward.
"They are not simple," I said. "Especially Zhao Yin."
He did not interrupt.
"She thinks clearly," I continued. "And she speaks with purpose."
Fu Sheng nodded slightly.
"I noticed," he said.
I added,
"They were raised well, even in that situation."
He let out a small breath.
