Chapter 14 - Over

"I know it was sudden" The Chief told me, "But maybe it would be better this way. You kid don't seem capable on the field it be better to just go back to what your already doing"

And just like that I was back to the same routines I did all those years before it's not bad. Still a part of me wonder what's the purpose of all the studying I did if I can't even use it to my workplace.

All that studying really help no one.

"Fuck.." I whispered under my breath as I stood before the apartment door, Letting out a sigh I twisted the door knob and entered the house.

Selina wasn't home.

She did tell me, She would have a matter to take care of however I can't help but long for her presence. I guess unknowingly I become too dependent on her.

Too dependent.

I walk towards the kitchen and found there a meal prepared for me. With Selina always cooking, I can't even remember the last time I cooked for myself or did my own laundry.

I had been spoiled too much not that I complain about it.

Still I should also do some chores around, She was my partner after all not my mother.

She might not found it difficult now but Selina would have enough of me after all this and-

'To trust a hand to feed you comes with the price of the possibility of same hand starving you.'

I sat myself down, The tension I didn't know had been residing in my shoulders loosened and grabbing a spoon to by the counter. I took a spoonful of the meal.

With the spoon still in my mouth I snapped my head towards the side, Only to find nothing there.

Perhaps it's because of all the cases I had been handling causing me to feel uneasy lately.

The murder case about seventeen bodies had been on my mind for a while now.

Those sixteen Women

One man

A dollhouse

A well fertilized garden.

I took a few spoonful of the meal before finally putting my spoon down, I then proceed to walk around the house recounting what I saw.

Outskirts of the city

Flowery Plotted Plants

Clean House

A skin that seem unrealistically pale almost like it doesn't touch the sun.

I press the bridge of my nose.

My Eyes closed shut.

Then I found myself standing there.

A dimly lit room with one lone chair in the middle.

The sixteen women was also there all of them surround the chair and the man who sat there.

All sixteen of them had three traits in common.

Pale skin.

Women within the age of 15-25

And Height within 5'5 to 5'7

I then remembered the files I was scolded for only hovering my eyes over.

A child of a single mother, who drunk herself to death.

All murders have seven things in common.

First a victim: Sixteen Women

Second a murderer: A man (Who was murdered by someone else)

Third a weapon: Possibly Poison

Fourth was Time: He didn't murder them at first. He kept them around to the point they grew pale. No perhaps his feeding them pills.

Fifth was Purpose: He want to play house. He wants to keep them around to play the role as his mother- No Maybe as family?

Sixth was a Story: In his early childhood he lack the familial affection he wants. He managed to live like an average human being until something happened. Perhaps this women displayed Affection? How? Sixteen people and no one noticed their missing?

Parental Affection? Really?

Lastly Seventh was Death:

I open my eyes only to find myself now standing by the kitchen sink.

This is stupid..
