Mihos remembered Sekhmet admitting he was connected to vampires. He remembered the blood abilities.
But hearing that Sekhmet had personally drained a Mid-Rank God was different.
Mihos asked, "What happened after that?"
"I died."
Stephen pointed toward the broken artifact.
"I do not know why they left my body there…"
He continued, "When the artifact finished rebuilding enough of my life force for me to wake, Iron House was empty. Everyone was gone."
"Everyone?"
"Yes."
"No Dawn people?"
"None."
"No Sekhmet?"
"No."
Mihos frowned.
Stephen continued, "His people had disappeared. Prisoners too. Even Elena was gone. One thing is certain they left in a hurry."
That part remained strange.
Mihos already knew that large numbers of Sekhmet's people could vanish unexpectedly.
Stephen had also lost the signal from the ancient seed during the battle. He still did not know how.
"When you woke up, what did you do?"
"I left."
"That simple?"
Stephen gave him a tired look.
