Stamped transfer slips. Identity lines. Sale registration. Contract possession notice. Dispute disclaimers. Market-seal proof. Liability release for mixed-blood instability. Carry-right annotation for offsite relocation. Mira signed where needed. The broker signed where required. The seal clerk came over with inked hands and a dead face and pressed the transfer marks in the proper places. The line markers on the women's wrists were altered. Contract ownership shifted.

Only then did the broker decide to become more helpful.

Mira noticed the change at once.

It always happens after payment. Once the risk of losing the sale was gone, men like him suddenly remembered how much extra information they possessed.

He glanced toward the seated old woman and said, "For the sake of full clarity, my lady, the elder one is not mixed."
