The hall didn't feel heavy when they walked in this time. If anything, it felt too normal, and that was what set Lucas on edge. After everything they'd been through, normal didn't exist here anymore. When things looked simple, it usually meant the complication hadn't revealed itself yet. He slowed slightly as he stepped inside, eyes moving without rushing, letting the details settle instead of forcing meaning onto them.
People were talking again. Not loudly, not like before everything started shifting, but enough that the room had some life to it. Small conversations. Quick exchanges. A few quiet laughs that didn't last very long. It looked like recovery, but Lucas didn't trust it. Not here. Not now.
Tomas glanced around and let out a breath. "Okay… this feels better."
