Far from regretting what he did and being cowed, his determination for more power only became stronger. The motivation to kill this guardian and whoever was their god king also became stronger with every passing moment.
None of these showed on his face, demeanor, or mind, though. On the surface, he was the same frozen wolf man wondering what was going on and being surprised by the turn of events.
He was pretending, but some of his emotions, like surprise that his son was advancing right now and curiosity about how all of this was possible, were genuine. But the more dangerous emotions were hidden deeply in a place where they couldn't see the light of day.
