Because of how unjust the whole experience was instead of being cowed into submission, his determination to gain his freedom has only intensified. On the surface, he appeared to be calm and docile. But inwardly, he was ready to burn the sect down at the earliest chance he got.
He was thinking about how he would destroy the sect and torture the founder of the sect for all of eternity on his way to the sect elder's meeting.
The meeting had been going on for a while now, so he was definitely late to it. But he didn't care about being late to a meeting that could affect the future of the sect.
At this point, he couldn't care about the fate of the sect when all that he wanted was to destroy the sect with his bare hands. Not even the fact that he held four Divine Positions and would have a lot of voting power made him care about the meeting.
