Chapter 108 - Next: Abel Island

Slim continued, "Barica put all the family assets under Blaine's trust when she realized she could not be cured. Kyle has his own trust. She created Blaine's trust a few years ago in case one day the two of you could be separated. I will leave it to you to discuss if you want double payments or wait to give you payments from your trust if you are ever able to separate bodies."

Blaine felt the need to speak there, "just so this is known, while everything was put in my name, this body belongs to my twin. It always has. I will be the one moving. For now, we will just continue to use his trust and allow mine to build."

Slim nodded. "There is also the matter of the war between families. I see Cere Techno is here with you. Does this mean the war is over?"

Cere nodded, "we need conditions set."

Blaine nodded, "one of those conditions need to be a marriage between Lana and Kyle. A union between the families. Also, I want everything known about her family to give to her as a wedding present."

Cere nodded, "why don't you guys go sleep in the various rooms. I'll discuss things with Slim here. He can draw up the papers, and you can sign them in the morning."

By now all the others were gathering in the living room and were also tired. There were three bedrooms and each team took a room.

In their rooms, everyone pulled out their bedrolls. Dobin looked upset but he also wasn't looking at Lana. Finally, he decided to air it out.

"Lana, you killed that lady."

Lana looked at him, "you heard or saw?"

"Saw. That little robot thing shared the whole thing but it wasn't very clear. She threatened me and you killed her."

"And your point is?"

"You're going to get in trouble. Because of a crazy person."

"She isn't going to get in trouble. I'm taking the blame and calling it self-defense. My lawyer is handling it."

"You actually trust him after what he did to Lana?"

Blaine chuckled, "well, if he doesn't do his job, he gets fired, correct? I'm sure he likes to eat. He's loyal to the company. He was loyal to my grandmother. He will obey her wishes."

"Are you really going to marry my sister?" Dobin asked sound just a tad vulnerable.

"Kyle is. And everyone in here is going to be invited. Do you have a problem giving her way, Dobin?"

He chuckled, "does she even want me to? I'm a terrible brother…"

"You are a good bother and if you refuse to give me way, I'm going to kick your ass," she chuckled. "Kattie, do you want to be my maid of honor?"

Kattie threw a pillow at her, "Of course! Do you think I'd say no after everything that's happened this year?"

Lana smiled, "no, but I needed to ask anyway."

Blaine pulled back the covers and pulled Lana close, "we need sleep…"

"We need a bit of food first." Lana pulled 12-inch sandwiches from her bracelet for everyone. "We never ate dinner and with the energy we expended today, we could wake up sick if we don't eat first. So, eat!"

Alto chuckled, "is this what it was like growing up with her?"

Dobin nodded, devouring his sandwich.

"I need to make sure everyone else has food." As she headed for the door Blaine raced after her. After everyone had food, she offered something to Sven and Kent then ate her own food.

"Now, it's time for bed!" She smiled and jumped in before Blaine could.

He jumped in, slid under the covers and tickled her then kissed her.

"You were amazing today. Thank you." She smiled brightly, cuddled up to him and closed her eyes. Soon, they were both asleep.

The next morning Cere and Blaine needed to sign papers and they would be able to carry on from there. Breakfast was delivered to their room for everyone then it was time to head back to school. Dobin was upset Lana would not be going back with him and refused to allow him to go with her.

"Dobin, I know you want your sister to be safe but I will be there with both of them. Everything will be fine." Cere put her foot down.

In the lobby, Darith had Barica's coffin prepared. Blaine reached in and retrieved the book from her pocket and the watch from her wrist. The coffin, book, and watch were then placed in the bracelet. It was an interesting one because Lana needed to reorganize things to make enough room to put the cofffin in there while Blaine was signing papers.

They all piled in Cere's airship despite it being a tight fit. Cere was the last to board and looked back. She noticed a whole bunch of men in black suits and black sunglasses leaving the building. Instead of getting in a vehicle, they stepped in a magic circle and teleported away. The circle vanished moments later. She never saw it created. Where they were in the building she never knew but they were clearly there watching over Lana.

She flew back home then told Lana and Blaine to stay on the ship while she made sure the others got back to the base. She went back with them, collected her portable teleporter then left the normal way. Her portable device was new technology not available on the market. She considered it a security risk because all a person needed was coordinates and they could teleport in. It would make bank vaults and the like vulnerable to thieves.

Cere left the base the normal way and returned home. The whole thing only took 30 minutes and they were off to Abel Island.

As their air ship landed at the bottom of the hill the mansion was built on, Blaine took a deep breath and hugged Lana close to him.

"This is going to be hard. Stay close to me."

Lana nodded and held his hand firm at her side.

Cere held her head high, "let's get this over with."

Together, they climbed the long staircase in the front of the house. It had to be extended once the amount of dry land increased. At one time, it was only three steps. This staircase now extended the length of four stories of a standard mansion. It was quite a workout to climb but for the Abel Family, it was part of the standard daily exercise routine.

As the trio climbed, they found the mansion rather interesting. Blaine had to explain.

"When it was originally built, you could have described it as the bottom floor being on concrete supports. Once the island was elevated above water, it was clear erosion from the water was damaging those structures, so the family built that outer wall you see there around the base. That was then filled in with rocks and dirt and became like a terrace garden of sorts. That was actually built after the Walkers came. It enabled us to grow our own food without walking all the way down."

Blaine chuckled, "we just had to walk most of the way down. Still, it's a great place to hang out during the summer. The house shades it quite nicely and the temperatures are quite pleasant. When it gets closer to sundown, Lana, there's a place I want to take you. I'll have them prepare us dinner there," Blaine smiled down at her, his eyes sparkling with his love.

After what seemed like forever, they reached the top and a servant met him. The company had been advised not to contact the family so this was a surprise.

"Master Blaine, you have returned home early. Shall I announce your guests?"

Gerald seemed slightly timid. He was secure in his position as head of the servants, but Barica Abel was a loose cannon. Any slight thing could set her off on a violent tirade. Everyone was forced to walk on eggshells, even if she wasn't there.

"Gerald, this is Lana Plantwell and Cere Techno. Lana and I will be having dinner alone tonight on the Western Terrace. Have the kitchen prepare nothing but the best. As for announcing us, please tell the family I wish to have a meeting with all of them in the dining room."

Gerald bowed deeply, "as you wish Master Blaine." He backed away then stood up and quickly vanished into the house.

Before long, the dining room began to fill up with the remaining family members. At this point it was only about 30. The dining room was big enough to seat over 100. Blaine intentionally slowed down his pace so they would get there after the rest of the family. They could hear the excited voices of those who lived there. The family had been told Blaine was back and brought guests but not whom since Gerald was not given permission to announce them.

Blaine switched to Kyle who took a deep breath, gazed into Lana's eyes for strength, held her hand firmly in his, then pushed the door open. Gerald was there to hold it for the three to enter.

The first thing that stood out was that everyone in the room had blond hair and blue eyes. They all had similar fascial features, making it obvious they came from the same genes. As they entered, a woman around 40 years old stood and started rushing toward Kyle while another who was around 20 did the same. They both stopped dead in their tracks when they saw him holding hands with a young lady who was NOT of Abel blood. They both had a look of horror on their faces.

Kyle's jaw twitched and locked while his eyes twitched in a way that showed extreme agitation. He then threw a massive fireball in their direction to drive home a point. It fizzled out before it hit anyone, but the message was clear and the two women quickly regained their seats.
