Chapter 105 - Chapter 105: Sealing Jutsu

Chapter 105: Sealing Jutsu

The scene was nothing short of horrific. A wave of fanatics, driven by a cult-like fervor, charging blindly into their own destruction.

Ronin's teammates didn't stay in the car. They deployed in a triangular formation, naturally assuming a defensive perimeter as they prepared to engage the horde.

Ronin's gaze, however, remained fixed on the Elder hidden within the crowd.

Kill the source, and the message stops.

Theodore's ability was elite. Based on Ronin's meta-knowledge, once the user died, the Nen wouldn't vanish; it would transform into Post-Mortem Nen, remaining active on anyone previously marked.

But Ronin didn't care. In fact, he was curious to see how his skills interacted with a dying man's curse.

He flared the power of his left eye. Amenotokotachi: Celestial Stasis.

He didn't freeze the whole street; he focused the spatial lock solely on the area surrounding Theodore's head.

This served two purposes: it anchored the Elder in place and, because even the air molecules within the frozen space were rendered immovable, it began to suffocate him.

The Susanoo vanished. Ronin's hands blurred through a sequence of seals, and Lightning Style Chakra Mode crackled across his skin.

He exploded forward. His speed was so immense that the suicide bombers couldn't even register his passage, let alone detonate. In a heartbeat, he had bypassed the frontline and appeared inches from Theodore.

Theodore loathed outsiders. Especially those who came to strip Meteor City of its meager treasures.

Ronin was the ultimate trespasser. Theodore had refused Elder Ryan's invitation to collaborate, choosing instead to handle the "pest" his own way. He wanted to see the outsider reduced to ash in a glorious, bloody detonation.

But he had severely underestimated his prey.

This spatial lock... it felt like an Emitter ability, but of a caliber he had never encountered. And the red armored construct from before? Another massive projection.

Theodore realized he had two choices when the stasis hit. He could try to detonate his own marks to "blast" the space open. Spatial locks in this world were usually maintained by a high density of aura; a sufficiently powerful explosion could theoretically disrupt the "viscosity" of the locked zone.

But then he saw Ronin dispel the armor and shroud himself in lightning.

Transmutation?

To master two such disparate categories to this level... the boy was a freak.

And lightning meant speed.

Theodore abandoned the idea of breaking the lock. He would give the boy a parting gift instead. He had accepted his death long ago. He would turn himself into the ultimate bomb. As Ronin lunged into his personal space, Theodore intended to complete the "Art of the Void": Self-Detonation.

Theodore forced his hands together—the only parts of him not fully locked by the stasis.

Ronin reached him at that exact moment, his hand extending to touch the Elder's chest.

Under his mask, Theodore's lips curled into a cold, jagged smile. He opened his mouth to mouth the word "Boom," but nothing happened.

Instead, Theodore felt his aura being sucked into a vacuum. In the span of a second, he went from a high-level Nen user to a frail, powerless old man.

Fuinjutsu: Four Symbols Seal.

This was a powerful sealing formula designed to lock away "evil" or "corrupted" energies.

Ronin had been practicing this on Owl, trying to find a way to suppress Nen without killing the host.

Against a Nen user, the seal acted as a forced Zetsu. It worked by disrupting the natural flow of life energy and locking it behind a spiritual barrier. Because Nen is "Life Energy" and not "Demonic Chakra," the efficiency was slightly lower than in the Ninja world, but it was still effective.

How long the seal held depended on the gap between the sealer's power and the victim's remaining aura.

With Ronin's current output, the Four Symbols Seal would hold Theodore for at least ten seconds.

Ten seconds was an eternity for an executioner.

Hell Stab: Four-Finger Nukite.

Ronin's hand, wreathed in lightning, punched through Theodore's back and out his chest, obliterating his heart.

Ronin waited for the surge of Post-Mortem Nen.

It never came.

When he deactivated Amenotokotachi, Theodore's body slumped to the pavement, his eyes filled with a mix of confusion and pure malice.

He died in a state of Zetsu. Not a single drop of aura leaked from his corpse.

Ronin noticed that the Four Symbols Seal on Theodore's chest had actually grown stronger upon his death. It wasn't being broken; it was being fed.

A theory flashed through Ronin's mind.

Did Theodore trigger Post-Mortem Nen? Yes. But Post-Mortem Nen is fueled by 'Malice'—it's effectively 'evil energy.' And my seal is specifically designed to suppress and lock away evil energy.

The more Theodore's spirit tried to curse Ronin, the more the seal tightened around his soul, trapping the curse inside the meat.

If this were true, unsealing the body would be like opening a pressurized steam valve.

On the street, the explosions had stopped.

The marks on the fanatics' hands had vanished the moment the seal took effect on Theodore.

But the fanatics didn't stop. Deprived of their "art," they resorted to primitive violence, throwing themselves at Ronin's team in a suicidal melee.

Shizuku was the most efficient. Blinky swung like a mace, crushing skulls with rhythmic, clinical precision.

Kurapika used his chains to knock attackers unconscious, his face a mask of disciplined restraint.

Neon was the outlier. She was "browsing." When a fanatic lunged at her, she didn't just defend; she used her enhanced strength to "harvest" whichever body part she found aesthetically pleasing before the victim could even scream.

In terms of sheer gore, Neon was the scariest person on the street.

Ronin watched them for a moment, ensuring they weren't overwhelmed. He formed a cross seal.

Shadow Clone Jutsu.

The real Ronin retreated to the shadows. The clone stepped forward and touched Theodore's cooling corpse.

He injected a spark of Chakra, reversing the seal.

The moment the Four Symbols Seal broke, Ronin saw the marks reappear on Theodore's hands. A tide of aura erupted from the body—but it wasn't the vibrant glow of life. It was a murky, pitch-black sludge.

Post-Mortem Nen.

The fanatics on the street suddenly stopped. The marks reappeared on their palms, glowing with that same oily, black light.

Ronin's clone didn't even have time to pull his hand back. A negative symbol (–) materialized on his chest.

KABOOM!

The resulting explosion was twice as powerful as any that had come before. The Shadow Clone was vaporized instantly.

Ronin, watching from a distance, narrowed his eyes.

I was right. The seal didn't delete the curse—it bottled it.

Good to know.
