Every evening past the designated time, the water in the bath pools would be completely drained through the drainage pipes to ensure hygiene. Because Xavier arrived late this time, he could only use the large oak bathtub to soak himself.
His huge, pitch-black dragon body lay neatly on its stomach in the water. His two front paws, full of sharp claws, were holding a small towel, carefully and attentively scrubbing something. In his mouth, he happily hummed an off-key tune, the rhythm rising and falling; it was unknown where he learned it or if it was a dragon lullaby.
Jasmine stood at the door listening for a moment, feeling the melody was a bit strange, and the chirping language used was not the common language she could understand.
