It was unclear whether the commotion from their hunting was too great, the shouting and scent of blood stimulating the beasts, or if the sea monster pups were refusing to shed their fur and enter the sea, but the atmosphere of the entire sea monster herd became increasingly aggressive and fierce. They were ready to attack anything that came near. Even Harold's experienced team had quite a few people injured by impacts or claw marks.
However, to warriors, being injured during training was a daily occurrence. Their scars were their medals, and no one withdrew from the hunting activities because of them. They simply became more cautious in selecting their targets and during combat. They would rather spend more time kiting the monsters to wear them down than rush into close combat and risk making a mistake.
