"Willow... you're so foolish..."
Marcus held the graceful beauty tightly in his arms, his voice thick with emotion. Only now did he realize how much pain his hesitation had caused the people who truly cared about him, and the real fool had been him all along.
As long as he stayed true to his heart, and the people he loved were happy, why should he let other people's opinions dictate his life? Why keep shackling himself to outdated ideas that only hurt everyone involved?
Willow rested quietly against him and whispered, "Women always end up acting foolish when they're in love..."
Even so, wrapped safely in his embrace, feeling his warmth and hearing the sincerity in his voice, her heart was overflowing with happiness. She tightened her arms around his back, pressing herself close as though she never wanted to let go.
"Marcus..." she asked softly. "You won't push me away again... will you? You won't break my heart again?"
"Willow..."
He held her even tighter.
"I won't."
