Karen happened to be interested in Steve. Most women would fall for him after being offered a personal assistant job with an annual salary of two million.
In addition, Steve promised to marry her, so when they went out for dinner that day, Karen couldn't help but drink too much, giving him the perfect opportunity.

After Faith was captured, his blood was drawn and used as the latest experiment.
Following the Blood God ritual, Faith's resistance to weaknesses had greatly improved, though he wasn't completely immune.
Now the chief researcher had proposed a new idea—to fuse the blood of Blade and Captain America to enhance vampire genes.
As the first super soldier, Steve Rogers' serum was the most stable.
Other versions of the serum had minor flaws; some even required regular injections, or their effects would fade.
Using Captain America's blood to strengthen vampires was a bold idea.
For North, even his own son could be used as an experiment—so what was a son-in-law to him?

"He's been busy with work lately. I'll call him now," Nissa replied calmly, though she sensed her father's malice.
"Good. Call him and ask him to come here immediately. Don't leave. Hart, take the princess back to her room."
North's tone was commanding—his arrogance was the arrogance of a thousand-year-old vampire.
Nissa picked up her phone and called Steve, inviting him over briefly before her father took the phone away.
Her heart tightened. Could it be that her father discovered the truth about his experiments and planned to silence her?
Steve, who was having lunch with Maria Hill, looked serious when he received the call.

The system alert was short and vague—but it was enough.
Hill's pretty face was flushed, and at the base of her neck was a strawberry mark left by Steve.
"If you have something to do, go ahead. I'm full anyway," she said softly.
"No rush. It's Nissa. Her father seems to have discovered her investigation into the origin of the alien vampires—products of his experiments.
I'm planning to ask Tony and Blade to come with me. That old bastard definitely has bad intentions."
Steve had no respect for his father-in-law. Who knew what kind of scheme that old man was planning?
"Blade has been missing for several days," Hill said seriously. "I asked Whistler, and he said he hasn't been able to contact him either."
Hill's words carried no jealousy toward Nissa.
Low-level women are jealous every day; high-level women choose when to be jealous; top-level women turn jealousy into motivation.
"This is strange. My personal movie starts filming soon. Once it's released, I'll announce our marriage to the world," Steve said with a grin.
He held Hill's delicate hand—strong from years of training—and looked at her seriously.
Her heart fluttered. She had feared that Steve might abandon her for someone new, but hearing that he planned to marry her calmed her heart.
Once married, no matter how much Steve played around, he would always come home. And once he came home, she could handle him.
"Why so sudden?" she asked softly.
"Because I want to have a child with you! This might affect your work, but you're the woman I love—and I want to start a family with you."
Steve was thinking about the system task. He had been slacking off lately, enjoying his long leave a little too much.
Marry? Have a child?
Since becoming an agent, Hill had never considered such things. Her job made family life dangerous. Agents were always targets for revenge.
Even Hawkeye had kept his family hidden—no one knew except Nick Fury.
"I... it doesn't matter to me," Hill said after a pause. "If you want a child, I'm willing."
A beautiful smile spread across her face. Which woman wouldn't want a child of her own?
"You can leave this to me," Steve said. "Once we settle Nissa's issue, we'll establish our own safe house—to keep our family safe."
He understood her fears. Children would be her greatest weakness if enemies tried to use them.
Not having children had its advantages—but if he didn't have any, what was the difference between him and a eunuch?
"Alright," Hill nodded. After a moment of thought, she added, "Before you leave, stop by the Research Department. Whistler developed new weapons for fighting vampires. Take extra blood coagulation potions.
I'll handle the rest. It's a pity Natasha's on another mission—she'd have been useful."
Once Hill accepted the idea of starting a family, she became even more focused on the mission.
"Don't worry," Steve said, smirking. "Let's handle our personal business first. I really like the way you look in a suit."
Before getting down to business, it was only natural to clear one's head first, right?
Hill blushed as Steve pulled her close. She took out a pair of high heels from the cabinet, placed one hand on her hip, and gave him a teasing look.
"How about this pair? Think they'll increase my attack speed?"
