Hell's Kitchen, 22nd Street.
Her long golden hair shimmered under the streetlights, cascading over her shoulders like fine silk. Her slender legs, wrapped in sheer stockings, exuded both elegance and confidence. Karen Page, a paralegal dressed in a lawyer's suit and a pair of strappy heels, had just finished work after a long, exhausting day investigating Wilson Fisk's case.
She only wanted to go home, take a shower, and rest. But fate had other plans.
Just as she turned into an alley, several thugs blocked her path.
Their leering gazes swept over her, full of malice. Seeing her startled expression, they forced her deeper into the alley, laughing wickedly.
"Get out of my way! Or I'll call the police!" Karen shouted, her voice trembling.
The thugs snickered. "What are you yelling for? You offended the Abbot, and you still think you can leave?"
"What Abbot? Isn't he the boss?" one of them asked stupidly.
Smack!
The leader slapped the back of his head. "I told you not to talk, idiot!"
Then, turning back to Karen, he grinned. "Take her to the warehouse. We'll show her how to behave."
Karen's heart pounded in fear. She bit her lip and pulled out a stun gun from her bag. Blue arcs of electricity crackled in the dark.
But before she could react, one thug grabbed her wrist while another pressed a knife to her neck. They moved fast — clearly not amateurs.
Karen froze. The cold blade against her skin made her shiver. She regretted walking home instead of taking a taxi.
Just as despair crept in, a round metallic object flew through the air —
Bang!
The iconic vibranium shield slammed into the two thugs, sending them crashing into trash cans. They fell to the ground, howling in pain.
"Who's there?!" the leader shouted, pulling out a dagger.
Karen looked toward the entrance of the alley — and her eyes widened.
A tall man stood there, clad in a dark suit with a shining shield on his arm. His expression was cold, his gaze sharper than a blade.
Steve Rogers.
The thug realized he couldn't win and grabbed Karen as a hostage.
"Ah!"
Before Steve could move, Karen stomped down hard — a perfect crotch kick.
The thug collapsed, groaning in agony, and Karen's stiletto heels struck again and again. Judging by the damage, the man's descendants were doomed.
"I didn't expect this woman to be so ruthless," Daredevil muttered from the rooftop. He had been ready to intervene but now simply stood there, surprised. Though blind, he could sense the familiar presence of the man below.
Then more thugs appeared, climbing over walls and rushing in with knives and pistols.
Without hesitation, Daredevil leaped down to join the fight.
In the narrow alley, the thugs' numbers were useless. Steve Rogers and Daredevil moved with flawless coordination — shields, fists, and batons flying. One by one, the attackers dropped.
Steve pulled Karen close, shielding her as bullets ricocheted off the vibranium shield.
Bang! Bang!
He drew his sidearm — a modified pistol with infinite ammo — and fired back with deadly precision. Every shot hit its mark.
Daredevil frowned. Captain America using a gun? That wasn't the man he knew. But now wasn't the time to argue.
Suddenly, more gunfire erupted from the opposite side of the alley.
A grim man wearing a bulletproof vest with a white skull emblem emerged from the shadows, firing methodically. His name was Frank Castle — the Punisher.
Before Steve could speak, he sensed danger.
He raised his shield just in time —
BOOM!
Five heavy rounds slammed into it in quick succession, sending vibrations up his arm. His instincts told him it was an anti-material sniper rifle — a military-grade weapon designed to destroy equipment and vehicles.
When he looked toward the rooftop a thousand meters away, it was empty. The sniper had vanished.
The alley was a mess — littered with bodies and groaning thugs.
Steve turned to Frank. "We should go. Do you have a safe house?"
The Punisher hesitated, recognizing him. "Follow me."
Underground Workshop, Abandoned Factory
When the four of them arrived, Daredevil and the Punisher were breathing heavily. Karen clung to Steve's arm, while he remained composed, barely winded.
Daredevil frowned. He shouldn't have been here — a vigilante without official authority didn't belong in this kind of situation.
"Drop the act, Matt. I just need to talk."
Steve's calm voice cut through the tension. The Punisher turned sharply toward Daredevil, realizing what he'd just heard.
"You—Lawyer Murdock?" Frank growled. "You've been fighting me this whole time!"
Matt froze. Steve already knew his identity, and there was no point denying it.
With a sigh, he removed his mask, revealing the familiar face of Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer.
Karen gasped, covering her mouth. "Matt?! You're… Daredevil?"
"I'm sorry, Karen," Matt said softly. "I never meant to hide it from you."
"You bastard!" the Punisher roared, grabbing Matt by the collar. "You've been preaching about law while running around like me at night!"
"Enough, Frank."
Steve's firm voice broke the tension. Holding Karen close, he gently patted her shoulder. Her rapid heartbeat gradually slowed, comforted by the steady presence of Captain America.
