"I can finally see."
I remained speechless as I watched all of them.
They were really back!
Still holding Malcolm's hand, I approached them and saw how Ruby's eyes widened as she took a step back but Deborah and the stranger stood their ground.
When I looked at Malcolm, he had an unreadable expression and wasn't jovial or carefree anymore and it made me wonder if he didn't want them to see that side of him.
As I was about to take my hand from his grip, he didn't let go and as I looked at him, he gave me a sad look and said, "I agree to your request."
For a moment I didn't understand what he was saying until I remembered asking him to be friends with me.
"What are you doing with him, Ellen?" Deborah cautiously asked and I could see how she refused to make eye contact with him.
"He is my friend," I answered and her eyes widened while Ruby gasped.
Nevertheless, the stranger came to me and went on his knees, leaving me wide eyed.
