"I am your daughter," I agreed but deep down, there was a motive.
"Good. So how do you see Lord Eric? Is he manly enough for you?"
My jaw dropped in disbelief.
Why would he think of him as a good prospect for me?
"Lord Eric? Why him?" I found myself asking.
"Because he suits you," came his response which left me surprised.
"Suits me? How?" I asked because I just couldn't understand his way of reasoning.
"You are now my first daughter's lady in-waiting and there is nothing I can do about it since you were chosen by my dearest Ruby, so it is only right for you to marry someone within the kingdom in order to keep serving her." He explained and when I wanted to speak, he continued.
"Unless you are here to serve her for a short while then just leave. Ladies in-waiting are like knights sworn to a king. If you cannot handle the job the way Dally does, then leave," he bluntly said.
"I am here to stay," I informed him.
