Raj was walking toward the place where he planned to meet Ash and the others. The roadside was filled with many bushes, making it a paradise for Pokémon.
Most of them were very common Pokémon and didn't attract Raj's attention.
At this moment, Haunter suddenly floated closer to Raj and gently tugged at him.
"I know not to give anything away. I want to see what they're really up to."
Raj smiled as he stroked Haunter's head.
Not a single hint of abnormality showed on his face.
Ever since he left that tall building earlier, Raj had already noticed someone tracking him.
Even though this person was quite skilled at following others, Raj's sharp senses still detected him, not to mention Haunter.
Raj just didn't know what the person hiding in the dark wanted. Since that was the case, he might as well lure the snake out of its hole.
Let them come out themselves.
Raj was very curious about what this person wanted.
So he remained calm as if he hadn't noticed anything and continued walking leisurely toward his meeting point with Ash and the others.
"Is he still there? You haven't lost him, have you?"
Leo's walkie-talkie suddenly rang, startling him slightly. He hurriedly took it out and replied, "Still here. He's still walking on this road. It looks like his destination is the city not far ahead."
"Keep a close eye on him. We'll be there soon."
"Alright."
Leo nodded while staring greedily at Raj ahead of him.
In his eyes, Raj had already turned into shining League currency. He looked extremely valuable.
This reminded Leo of his former lover with her perfect figure and adorable charm. The two could almost be compared.
"After this job, I can retire with her. How sweet."
Thinking of this, Leo became even more careful while tracking him.
"Damn it, what is this guy doing?"
After walking for a long time, Raj still hadn't seen the stalker appear. The man was like a shadow, silently following from behind without making a move.
Could it be that he covets my handsomeness?
Raj touched his face and subconsciously shivered.
Although he knew he was handsome, he hadn't expected this kind of trouble.
"Alas, being handsome is also a kind of trouble, but I don't like men, especially not these perverted uncle types."
Raj sighed with a depressed expression.
Haunter stared blankly at Raj, completely confused about what kind of nonsense its Trainer was thinking.
I know you're handsome, but you don't have to be this narcissistic.
Who praises themselves like this?
Haunter silently complained in its heart.
"This is really troublesome. Since he won't come out, let's go. We'll drag him out."
Raj finally lost patience and was about to turn around when several figures suddenly rushed out from the bushes and surrounded him.
At the same time, the stalker from behind also quietly approached.
Now he was completely surrounded.
Although Raj was strong, the opponent had the advantage in numbers, so rushing into battle directly would not be wise.
Raj narrowed his eyes and carefully observed the four people standing in front of him.
Each of them had visible scars on their bodies, giving them a fierce aura.
And their presence felt familiar.
Bloodlust?
Raj frowned slightly.
Had these people killed someone before, or killed many Pokémon?
Either way, they were clearly not good people.
"Let me introduce ourselves. We are bounty hunters. As for our names, you don't need to know them. Just hand over your Pokémon obediently and maybe we can spare your life."
The leader of the group stared sharply at Raj.
Most Trainers would already be trembling in fear in this situation. Even experienced traveling Trainers rarely encountered hunters who robbed others using ruthless methods like this.
Very few people could stay calm.
However, the Raj standing in front of them remained completely composed.
There was even a trace of mockery in his eyes.
"Is it an illusion?"
The leader frowned slightly.
He had encountered many talented Trainers before, but in the end they either handed over their Pokémon obediently or were forced to surrender them.
As for killing people, that usually didn't happen.
Bounty hunters were still registered under an association system. Robbery might be tolerated in certain gray zones, but causing fatalities would bring immediate pursuit from Officer Jenny and League authorities.
Of course, things were different in remote wilderness areas.
"What if I don't hand them over? What can you do to me?"
Raj held a Poké Ball in his hand and smiled calmly.
These people clearly had experience working together.
Four against one.
That made things slightly troublesome.
"Heracross, Horn Attack!"
"Golbat, Supersonic!"
"Raticate, Hyper Fang!"
"Mightyena, Dark Pulse!"
In an instant, attacks rushed toward Raj from all directions.
There was almost nowhere to dodge.
But suddenly a flash of light appeared.
Raj and Haunter disappeared from their original position.
"What?"
The expressions of the bounty hunters changed drastically.
"Psychic?"
The leader reacted immediately.
Raj had used Haunter's Psychic ability to escape.
"Not good. Scatter quickly."
"Don't you think it's too late? Haunter, Psychic!"
Raj's cold voice sounded from above.
The next moment, the hunters and their Pokémon were lifted into the air by Psychic force and slammed heavily back onto the ground.
They had no time to react at all.
"Damn it, this kid is completely different from anyone we've encountered before."
The leader gritted his teeth.
This guy had clearly been pretending to be harmless.
How could someone already this strong still pretend to be a rookie Trainer traveling around?
"Then with your little strength, you still dared to rob people? Aren't you afraid of being laughed to death?"
Raj landed calmly beside them as Haunter gently lowered him to the ground.
Among them, only the leader still had the strength to move.
As expected of the team leader.
His strength was indeed better than the others.
"Hmph. Don't be too smug. Your name has already appeared on the bounty list. We just weren't strong enough, but there are countless experts in this world. Sooner or later someone will target you."
"Oh? I believe that. But right now, this is a robbery."
Raj smiled mischievously and extended his hand like a street thug.
"Hand over all your valuables."
The leader looked completely speechless.
They were bounty hunters.
Since when had they become the ones being robbed?
"Go."
If he couldn't win, he could at least escape.
The leader turned and ran immediately.
Suddenly Muk appeared behind him and slammed him directly onto the ground.
Muk pinned him down firmly.
"How is this possible?"
The leader almost cried.
Muk must have been hiding earlier during the battle.
Although Muk looked soft, its strength was terrifying once it attacked seriously.
He couldn't even stand up now.
"Robbery."
Raj smiled brightly.
The tables had turned.
Even bounty hunters could become victims themselves.
"These bounty hunters don't even have much money."
Raj checked their belongings with a disappointed expression.
Only one useful item caught his attention.
A Poison-type incense burner.
This could increase the power of Muk's Poison-type moves.
That alone made the robbery worthwhile.
