Rai bit down mercilessly on his own lower lip, tasting the faint, metallic tang of blood as he fought to control himself. He was losing the battle against his own voice, desperate to keep from making any more embarrassing sounds or revealing how utterly undone he was.
But the touches on him were too much, the heat too consuming, and so far, he was failing miserably.
Every ragged breath he took felt like inhaling broken glass, hot and sharp, tearing through his chest as he tried to maintain even a shred of his dignity.
The sheer effort of keeping his mouth shut was exhausting, sending a fine tremor through his jaw.

He couldn't bring himself to look Zade in the eye. Whenever their gazes locked, Rai felt like he was being consumed by a wildfire, a blazing heat that scorched him from the inside out until he was nothing but ash.
