After they finished lunch, Rai went back to his den, preparing lesson plans and sorting through the books he had to check for tomorrow now that the weekend was ending.
And that was all.
No Zade.
No disturbances.
No headaches.
No constant frowning.
But…
It had been far too long.
Night.
Now, it was already past nine.
Rai had eaten dinner alone because Zade never came out after Rai knocked on his door earlier. Rai had assumed maybe he did not want dinner or had fallen asleep and left it at that.
But after returning to his room again, he found himself unable to focus on anything. His ears kept straining for sounds outside, his mind constantly drifting toward the hallway and the closed door across from his own.
Waiting.
For no one other than that bastard.
It was ridiculous.
Worse… it was unsettling.
