"Brother, why are you so late?"
The moment Polly saw him approaching, she hurried over, grabbed his arm, and practically dragged him forward.
"Rory, this is my brother, Lian."
Then she turned to him excitedly.
"Brother, this is the friend I told you about, Rory."
The dancing firelight illuminated Lian's face with remarkable clarity. His slightly upturned eyes were long and elegant, shimmering with captivating light.
"Rory. It has been a long time."
