"Inherit your position?"
"Mm."
Beerus nodded calmly.
"Not at all, Lord Beerus. Where did that rumor come from?" Gohan replied with an awkward smile.
Beerus narrowed his eyes.
"Have you ever spoken about me stepping down?"
"Stepping down?"
Gohan laughed nervously.
"I was only joking with Whis."
"Joking?"
Gohan nodded.
"Then who taught you to use Destruction energy?"
"An old man in a dream."
"A dream?"
"Yes."
Beerus stared at him. "You're not lying?"
"No."
Beerus glanced at Whis.
"Do you know anything about this?"
Whis shook his head. "No idea."
Beerus turned back to Gohan.
"Do you know about the Super Saiyan God?"
"I do."
"You do?"
Beerus' eyes lit up.
"Whis, my prophetic dream might have been correct after all."
"Prophetic dream?" Krillin and the others murmured.
Before anyone could react further, the smell of food caught Whis' attention.
"What is that?"
"It's takoyaki. Would you like some?"
"Certainly."
Meanwhile, Beerus continued.
"Where is the Super Saiyan God?"
"It's a divine transformation of a Super Saiyan. I can use it," Gohan answered.
"A transformation?"
"Yes."
"Then transform and fight me."
"Fight?"
"Mm."
Gohan hesitated, then nodded.
Beerus floated up into the sky.
Gohan followed.
On King Kai's Planet.
King Kai sighed. "So it's unavoidable."
"What's unavoidable?"
Goku suddenly appeared behind him.
"Goku!" King Kai jumped.
"What were you talking about?"
"N-Nothing."
Goku narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
Back on Earth, high above the ocean, Beerus and Gohan faced each other.
"Transform into a Super Saiyan God," Beerus said.
Just as Gohan was about to comply, another figure appeared.
It was Goku.
"Dad!"
Goku nodded.
"Hello, Lord Beerus. I'm Son Goku."
"Son Goku?"
"Yes. May I fight you instead?"
Beerus laughed.
"In all my years, I've never met someone this amusing."
"Amusing?"
"Don't you know who I am?"
"You're the God of Destruction."
"Exactly. And you still want to fight me?"
Goku smiled.
"You asked about the Super Saiyan God. I can transform too."
The others gasped.
"Goku mastered it too?" Yamcha exclaimed.
"Very well," Beerus said. "Show me."
Goku clenched his fists.
"Haa!"
His hair turned crimson, his aura blazing like fire. His body grew leaner, surrounded by divine energy.
Whis paused mid-bite of takoyaki.
"That is indeed godly aura," Beerus observed.
Vegeta suddenly arrived.
"Kakarot…"
Frustration burned in his eyes. Even after two years of relentless training, Goku had surpassed him again.
"Goku, between you and Gohan, who is stronger?" Beerus asked.
"Gohan."
"I see. Then let's begin."
Goku raised his guard.
In an instant, Beerus appeared before him and delivered a heavy kick.
Boom!!
Goku blocked, but the force sent him flying.
Beerus pursued him immediately, striking with both fists.
Bang! Bang! Bang!!
Goku endured the barrage.
Boom!!
Beerus punched him hundreds of meters away.
Goku steadied himself in mid-air.
Beerus formed a sphere of Destruction energy and hurled it forward.
Goku dodged just in time.
The blast exploded violently.
Goku roared and charged back.
Beerus remained calm.
Goku attacked with both fists, but Beerus evaded effortlessly and countered with a kick.
Goku cried out as he was knocked back again.
Breathing heavily, he wiped his mouth.
"Is that all the Super Saiyan God can do?" Beerus asked coldly.
Goku smiled despite his injuries.
"I was just testing you."
Beerus laughed.
"And the result?"
"You're incredible, Lord Beerus."
"Then stop holding back and show me your true power."
Goku nodded.
He clenched his fists tightly, and his crimson aura flared even higher.
