Chapter 208 - Don't Set Fire To Your Mouth

Lucille shook her head slightly, trying to scatter the lingering thoughts from her mind. But they kept resurfacing no matter how she tried to push them away.

Though Hazel had smiled and laughed just now, the strange heaviness still clouded her countenance. Lucille couldn't help but think that an old scar had been dug up due to Kevin's story.

"Lucy! Hazel!"

Regina called as she emerged between the trees, coming from the tall stalks of maize. She held several ears of corn, cradling them in her arms. Their husks were still green and fresh.

"I got a few good ones," she announced cheerfully, brushing bits of the silky threads from her face. "Perfect size. Come and take a look."

Lucille exhaled softly, grateful for the interruption. She smiled at the defense esper. "Sister Gina, you're fast. They look good."

"They'll look and taste even good soon," Regina replied with a wink. She tilted her chin, gesturing in a direction. "Come on. Let's head to the river. We can grill them there."
