Chapter 198 - It's About Who Stays

Kevin stayed inside the pit for quite a considerable amount of time. Throughout it all, no one bothered him. An overwhelming pressure had settled on his back because of the abrupt passing of his brother.

Death was inevitable, particularly in this apocalyptic era. But Kevin would certainly find it hard to reconcile with the circumstances that had led to Rufus' demise.

 If not for Genesis' atrocity, the brothers might have simply been survivors, not test subjects.

When Kevin finally climbed out of the pit, he still held the jar close to his heart. Felix stepped forward when he seemed to struggle climbing to the edge.

Kevin swept his gaze from Ashrik to the others before returning to the ice wielder. He bowed deeply. Not once or twice, but again and again. His voice was hoarse as he thanked them.

"T-thank you, thank you again. I can't... I can't ever repay your kindness."
