The Kamchatka Peninsula lay in the far north of Russia, buried beneath an endless blanket of white. From the sky it looked untouched, like a pristine frozen wilderness where nothing could possibly exist. Snowfields stretched to the horizon, and the icy landscape seemed almost peaceful enough to pass for a paradise.
But beneath that silence, far below the frozen surface, one of Umbrella Corporation's most secret facilities was hidden deep underground.
Eric led fifty Alice clones through the sky, each one encased inside a Black Dragon mech. Their armored figures streaked across the frozen airspace as satellite scans mapped the ground below them in real time. After a careful search, they finally located a narrow ventilation shaft that connected to the hidden facility beneath the ice.
Without hesitation, the squad descended and slipped through the shaft one by one.
After crawling out of the ventilation duct, Eric froze for a moment when he saw the scene in front of him. Towering buildings rose on every side, and crowds of people hurried down the streets as if they were rushing to work. The entire place looked like a bustling city district full of life and activity.
If Eric hadn't confirmed through his scanners that he was still standing somewhere beneath the Kamchatka Peninsula, he might have believed he had somehow stepped into another place entirely.
Ada Wong's voice came from beside him, filled with disbelief. She looked around at the streets and muttered quietly that the entire scene looked exactly like Tokyo.
The pedestrians rushed past them without slowing down, as if the group of armored figures standing in the street didn't exist at all. Their movements were stiff and mechanical, yet they didn't resemble normal zombies either.
They simply walked forward with blank expressions, ignoring everything around them.
Eric studied them closely and quickly realized something strange. These people weren't infected—at least not yet.
At that moment, a familiar figure walked past him.
A woman in a trench coat hurried down the street with her head lowered, completely focused on wherever she was going. It was Alice. Yet she showed no reaction to Eric or the armored soldiers around him.
Eric's eyes shifted to another nearby figure. A woman in a professional uniform was holding a briefcase while speaking anxiously into a phone.
Ada suddenly stepped forward, staring at the woman in confusion. She whispered in shock, asking if that person was really her.
Her voice sounded disoriented, as if she couldn't understand how she could be standing here watching herself.
Before anyone could react further, raindrops suddenly began to fall from the sky. Pedestrians quickened their pace as the rain intensified, rushing down the streets in a frantic hurry.
Then a small girl wearing a white dress stepped out from the crowd.
Something about her looked unreal. A man walking by even passed straight through her body without noticing anything unusual.
The girl slowly approached Eric and smiled.
He recognized her instantly.
It was the Red Queen.
The artificial intelligence guardian of Umbrella Corporation appeared in the form of a little girl identical to the White Queen. Standing in the rain, she looked strangely calm as she gazed at Eric.
She said she had been looking forward to meeting him for a long time.
Eric had also expected to meet the Red Queen eventually, but he never imagined it would happen like this.
The girl explained that her programming prevented her from harming Umbrella employees and forced her to obey Dr. Isaacs's commands. Then she calmly suggested that Eric should simply enjoy what he was about to witness.
As she spoke, she spread her arms wide.
The pedestrians walking through the rain suddenly stopped in unison. Their heads twisted strangely as they turned toward Eric and the Alice Legion.
A small red umbrella slipped from someone's hand and landed on the ground.
Nearby, a blonde woman who had been resting her chin on her hand let the rain soak her hair. Her head jerked violently from side to side before she suddenly lunged forward and knocked down the person beside her.
She opened her mouth and began tearing into the woman's flesh.
The same horrifying transformation spread through the crowd like wildfire. One after another, people attacked those around them as infection spread in seconds.
Within moments the entire street had turned into chaos.
What Eric was seeing felt less like reality and more like a rehearsed recording of a zombie outbreak in Tokyo.
Soon thousands of zombies began rushing toward him and the armored soldiers like a rising tide.
The sight of such a massive horde charging forward would have terrified almost anyone.
But Eric simply watched calmly.
Gunfire suddenly erupted.
The Alice Legion opened fire in perfect synchronization. Encased in their powerful mechs, they advanced through the horde without slowing down as their weapons shredded everything in front of them.
Within moments, thousands of zombies collapsed across the street.
Then the lights flickered.
The towering buildings and city streets vanished instantly.
The entire scene dissolved like mist.
When the projection disappeared, everyone realized they were actually standing inside a massive warehouse. Rows of passageways surrounded the space, and multiple doors suddenly burst open as Umbrella's fully armed special forces stormed inside.
Gunfire and explosions erupted from every direction.
But the battle was completely one-sided.
The Black Dragon mechs possessed extraordinary armor. Even rifle rounds barely left marks on their surfaces. What followed wasn't really a battle at all—it was closer to a massacre.
Eric didn't even need to lift a finger. The Alice mech legion quickly crushed the Umbrella troops with overwhelming force.
After the last enemies fell, Eric calmly issued an order.
The soldiers split into four teams and rushed into the four different passages leading deeper into the base.
Moments later, Eric found himself entering another simulated environment.
This time the setting was an abandoned subway station. Dozens of zombies wandered aimlessly through the tunnels.
The moment Eric appeared, they lunged toward him like sharks smelling blood.
Poison Ivy vines burst from his suit, splitting into dozens of blade-like tendrils. In the blink of an eye they pierced every zombie's skull.
The entire group collapsed in less than a second.
Heavy footsteps suddenly echoed through the tunnel.
A towering zombie giant stepped into view, more than three meters tall and carrying a massive battle axe. The monster easily weighed over five hundred pounds, its enormous muscles bulging beneath decaying skin.
With a roar, the giant hurled the axe toward Eric from dozens of meters away.
The weapon whistled through the air.
Eric casually reached out and caught it by the handle.
The axe was more than two meters long and would have been impossibly heavy for a normal person to wield. But in Eric's hand it felt almost weightless.
Even without considering his Hulk-level strength, the mech alone allowed him to handle the weapon like a toy.
Eric charged forward and swung the axe once.
The blade sliced through the first giant's neck.
He moved again and cut down the remaining giants in a series of powerful strikes.
Without stopping to examine the battlefield, Eric continued moving deeper into the base.
The scene shifted again.
Now he stood inside a small town.
Just like the earlier city simulation, every resident had already turned into a zombie. Eric initially ignored them, planning to move straight through the area.
Then gunshots rang out from a nearby house.
A furious voice shouted for the monsters to stay away from her daughter.
Eric looked up at the balcony.
A woman wearing an apron stood there with a rifle in one hand and a small girl in the other.
It was Alice again.
Eric had already seen countless Alice clones inside the base, but the child in her arms was something new.
The woman stared at the zombie-filled streets with horror and asked what had happened to everyone.
Before she could react further, a zombie with a hole torn through its chest lunged from inside the house and bit into her neck.
Despite the pain, Alice pushed the little girl over the balcony railing and shouted for her to run.
The girl, Becky, clung to the fence and screamed for her mother.
Two more zombies rushed out of the house.
Alice somehow held all three monsters back by herself, buying precious seconds for her daughter to escape.
Even knowing this was just a clone created by Umbrella, Eric still felt moved by the desperate determination in her actions.
Just as Becky lost her grip and began to fall from the balcony, Eric shot upward and caught her.
Seeing her daughter safe, Alice whispered a quiet thank you.
Then she placed the rifle beneath her chin.
Eric covered Becky's eyes before she could see what happened next.
Alice pulled the trigger.
After placing the girl safely inside a Black Dragon mech, Eric gave an order to escort her away from the area.
He then continued deeper into the base.
Soon he entered a massive factory.
Rows of machines filled the enormous chamber. Countless Alice clones hung from mechanical racks like clothing as they were transported through automated production lines.
Seeing the cloning technology operating on such a massive scale was shocking even for Eric.
Umbrella had truly achieved mass production of human clones.
No wonder their personnel never seemed to run out.
With a single command, Eric destroyed the entire facility.
After passing through the ruined cloning factory, he reached the central control zone of the base.
There were fewer guards than expected.
Only four identical women stood waiting.
They were all Rain clones.
Unlike normal clones, these women had been injected with a parasite known as Las Plagas. The organism made their bodies nearly impossible to destroy.
Even a bullet through the brain wouldn't kill them.
The Red Queen appeared again and calmly praised Eric, saying he had become one of the most powerful individuals on Earth in an incredibly short time.
She explained that Dr. Isaacs greatly admired his potential and hoped he would join Umbrella Corporation.
Eric simply asked what would happen if he refused.
The Red Queen smiled slightly.
She replied that no one could refuse Dr. Isaacs, and besides, all the doctor really wanted were Eric's genes.
Whether he agreed or not didn't matter.
At that moment one of the Rain clones lunged toward him.
Eric grabbed her wrist instantly.
He remarked with a faint smile that he usually didn't like hitting women.
Then he snapped her wrist bone and slammed his fist into her chin.
The clone crashed violently into the wall behind her.
Any normal person would have died from such an impact.
But the parasite inside her body quickly repaired the shattered bones. Her head twisted unnaturally before snapping back into place as the wounds healed.
Eric pulled out his pistol and fired twice.
One bullet struck her forehead.
The other hit her heart.
The clone still didn't fall.
The bullets slowly pushed themselves out of her body and dropped to the floor.
The Red Queen proudly pointed out that the Rain clones couldn't be killed, and there were still three more standing behind her.
Before she could finish speaking, beams of heat suddenly burst from Eric's eyes.
In an instant, the clone was reduced to molten ash.
Eric looked at the Red Queen calmly and asked what she had been saying.
The AI stared at him in shock, realizing he had just used Superman's heat vision.
Before she could finish expressing her disbelief, Eric fired again.
Three more blazing beams erased the remaining clones completely.
The Red Queen recovered quickly and smiled.
She admitted that Eric was extraordinary and announced that the base now belonged to him.
Losing it would deal an irreversible blow to Dr. Isaacs and the Umbrella Corporation.
Then she disappeared.
Eric inserted a USB drive into the main computer system, allowing the White Queen to remotely take control of the facility.
With the base secured, the remaining operations would be handled by Ada Wong and the Alice Legion.
After leaving the Kamchatka Peninsula, Eric began searching the Arctic for Superman's Fortress of Solitude.
Half a month passed quickly.
He flew across the frozen ocean countless times, yet he still couldn't find any trace of the legendary fortress.
Just as he was about to abandon the search temporarily, Superman suddenly appeared.
Eric secretly followed him to a massive iceberg.
Superman hovered there silently for nearly ten minutes before finally leaving.
Eric understood that the hero was acting purely on instinct, without conscious awareness of why he had come.
But the fact that he lingered there for so long meant something important must be hidden inside the iceberg.
Eric carefully examined the structure and noticed gaps between several massive ice sections.
Part of the iceberg was actually a concealed entrance.
There were no traps or mechanisms protecting it. The only way inside was to physically move the enormous mass blocking the entrance.
For most people such a task would be impossible.
But Eric possessed the strength of both Superman and the Hulk.
With a deep rumble echoing across the ice, he pushed the towering mass aside and revealed the hidden entrance to the Fortress of Solitude.
