Chapter 196: We've Come to Keep You Company, God
Meanwhile, in the High-Dimensional World.
GOD sat amidst a pale, infinite void, continuously devouring the ambient energy of the higher plane to replenish His depleted reserves.
His form remained exactly as humans had seen Him in the lower realm: a humanoid entity composed of countless twisted, shifting lines.
This was the manifestation of His divine arrogance. Even when descending to a lower world, He refused to hide His true nature behind a false skin, maintaining an absolute contempt for "lower lifeforms."
However, the events of the recent past had shaken that arrogance. This powerful deity no longer dared to underestimate the creatures of the lower dimensions.
"Damn it... My Essence has only recovered by twenty percent so far..."
GOD sensed the lingering weakness in the depths of His soul and cursed inwardly.
Since His avatar was obliterated in the lower realm, His true body had suffered a severe backlash, leaving Him with a catastrophic wound. His original Essence had been nearly forty percent destroyed. Even after this period of recovery, He had only managed to claw back half of what He lost.
And this was only possible because He had exploited the fragile nature of high-dimensional time, frantically accelerating the flow of time around Him.
Only three weeks had passed in the world where King lived, but for GOD, nearly a thousand years had gone by. Yet, He was still far from His peak.
I have no choice but to settle for this for now.
With my Essence repaired to this level, I should at least be able to handle those bastards waiting for me to slip up.
GOD clenched His fists. Chaotic colors erupted from His form, bleeding into the pale void around Him.
He was a God, yes, but in the vastness of the High-Dimensional World—a realm that sat above the Myriad Worlds—there were always entities more powerful than Himself.
There were many who possessed strength comparable to His own. Usually, they existed in a stalemate, none able to truly harm the other. But the moment one showed a hint of fatigue or weakness, the others would lunge forward without hesitation to devour their power.
Energy in the higher dimensions was sparse, and with so many powerful beings, the resources had long since been carved up. To grow stronger, one either had to plunder the lower worlds or consume other high-dimensional lifeforms.
"When I am fully restored, I will descend again. I'll make those two lower lifeforms pay for what they did!!"
For now, He was in a relatively safe state. His rivals wouldn't attack unless they were certain of a kill.
As for King and that rule-breaking Baldy...
GOD sneered. This was the High-Dimensional World. Leaving aside the question of how two maggots from a lower world could even climb up here...
Even if they did, so what?! This was His home turf! If they dared to step foot in this realm, He would erase them from existence!
If I can devour the power of King and Saitama, I will surely undergo a massive evolution. I will ascend to a higher peak within the Myriad Worlds!
Just as GOD was lost in His delusions of grandeur, a massive boom—audible across ten thousand miles—swept through the void. A violent shockwave of golden energy erupted instantly.
What?!
Sensing the familiar and hated energy signature, GOD's entire body shuddered.
Impossible... how could that guy get up here... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!
In the very next instant, following the golden shockwave, a searing wave of crimson Vitality shot into the sky. In a heartbeat, the pale void was stained a deep, pulsing scarlet.
DOOM! DOOM! DOOM!
A thunderous roar, as if resonating with the very fabric of existence, exploded through the void—heavy, measured, and authoritative.
That sound... is that the King Engine?!
GOD's energy surged as He frantically funneled His power throughout His vessel, preparing for combat. His chaotic, berserk colors clashed with the encroaching crimson Aura, turning the horizon into a blend of deep purple and blood-red.
What happened... why has he become so much stronger?! This pressure is horrific!
A spatial tunnel manifested. Accompanied by the continuous, rhythmic drumming of the King Engine, King and Saitama stepped out from the shimmering blue light.
King's eyes locked onto the deity. A cold, confident smirk played on his face.
"It's been a while. I heard you were missing us. We've come to keep you company, God."
