Chapter 123 - Chapter 123: Magic that Converts Light and Darkness

Hyberion was unsure which S-Class Mage Fairy Tail had dispatched to subdue Oración Seis, but he had another piece of information to share.

"Actually, there is another important reason why we must deal with Oración Seis."

Calling Hope and Erza to look at him, Hyberion said with a serious expression, "According to intelligence from the Council, Oración Seis has recently been plotting to obtain the ancient magic hidden in the Vast Woods—'Nirvana'."

'Nirvana' is a Super Transformation Magic.

It can convert light and darkness into one another, turning good people evil and evil people good. It is a hundred thousand times more terrifying than brainwashing.

Hearing Hyberion's introduction, Hope and Erza gasped.

Although 'Nirvana' has no direct destructive power, its terrifying function means that given enough time, it could reverse the light and darkness of the entire world.

If such terrifying magic were to fall into the hands of ambitious villains, the consequences would be unimaginable.

No wonder the Council needed to form the Guild Alliance; they were worried that if Oración Seis controlled 'Nirvana', sending an army would just be handing them victory. It was better to have powerful Mages team up and launch a surprise attack on Oración Seis.

Erza's eyes shifted. "But how did Oración Seis learn about 'Nirvana's' existence? And how did they know its location? For such important magic, even if the Council didn't send troops to guard it, they should have strict confidentiality measures, right?"

Hearing Erza's question, Hyberion looked slightly embarrassed. "Actually, our Academy holds intelligence about 'Nirvana'... Brain probably grew greedy for 'Nirvana' while he was at the Academy. As for 'Nirvana's' specific location, only the Council knows."

When the Council was mentioned, Hope immediately understood.

Jellal sent his Thought Projection to infiltrate the Council, not just to plot for Anima, but also likely to investigate the whereabouts of 'Nirvana' for his teacher, Brain.

The status of a Council Member is sufficient to access all internal Council documents and intelligence.

First, Jellal planned the R System, and now Brain is attempting to seize 'Nirvana.' Both of these magical artifacts pose immense danger to the world.

What a pair of Master and Disciple, always aiming for world-altering schemes. They truly belong together.

"Senior, you've told us so much confidential information. You're not trying to get us involved in this mess, are you?" Hope looked at Hyberion suspiciously.

"That's right."

Hyberion admitted it quite frankly.

To deal with Oración Seis, Lamia Scale dispatched their guild's Ace Mage, Jura, who is also one of the current Ten Wizard Saints, to join the Guild Alliance.

With Jura present, plus the S-Class combat power and elite members from the other three guilds, they should, in theory, be enough to counter Oración Seis.

But just one day ago, a mole from the Council, who was undercover in a subordinate guild of Oración Seis, sent back a crucial piece of intelligence.

Jellal, who should have perished along with the Tower of Paradise under the 'Self-Destruct' Magic Circle, has actually appeared among Oración Seis!

That guy is actually still alive?

Hope raised an eyebrow and subconsciously looked at Erza.

However, apart from being slightly surprised by the news that Jellal hadn't died, Erza showed no other emotional fluctuation. It seemed she had truly severed her painful past and turned to embrace the future.

Hope stroked his chin. Regardless of how Jellal survived, being at the core of the 'Self-Destruct' spell at the time meant he must have been severely wounded. He wondered how much his body had recovered and how much of his strength remained.

After some thought, Hope decided to get involved in this mess anyway.

Although the Guild Alliance had the Ten Wizard Saints Mage Jura, if Oración Seis possessed some magic that could restore Jellal's power, the Guild Alliance would be in trouble.

Hope, who had fought Jellal before, clearly knew the extent of 'Heavenly Body' magic's attack range and power.

The safety of his Fairy Tail companions in the Guild Alliance alone was enough reason for Hope to go.

Erza felt the same way, but when she thought about the locations of Mildian Magic Academy and the Vast Woods, she grew frustrated. The distance between the two places would take at least a day even by the fastest Magic Train.

But according to Hyberion, the Guild Alliance had already set off to subdue Oración Seis.

"Senior Hyberion, do you have any way to send us near the Vast Woods?"

Seeing Erza's slightly anxious expression, Hyberion smiled confidently and replied, "Of course. As the top magical academy in the Kingdom of Fiore, Mildian Magic Academy naturally has ways to quickly reach distant places."

He turned around and motioned for the two to follow.

Hope and Erza exchanged glances and followed Hyberion through the archway beside the Hall of Honor, proceeding along a corridor decorated with magic runes.

Finally, they arrived at a circular hall covered by Isolation Magic.

On the floor in the center of the hall was inscribed a massive, extremely complex Magic Circle, emitting a faint blue light.

The pattern of the Magic Circle spiraled outward from the inside, inlaid with many twinkling magic crystals, and the air was filled with intense magical fluctuations.

Sensing the unique aura of Spatial Magic resonating from the Magic Circle, which was very similar to 'Teleportation' magic, Hope asked in surprise, "Is this... a Teleportation Magic Circle?"

"That's right."

Hyberion walked to the edge of the Magic Circle, a hint of pride in his voice. "This is the Long-Distance Directional Teleportation Array that our Academy built at immense cost. Although activating it is expensive, it can play a vital role in critical moments."

Hope couldn't help but marvel once again at the Mildian Magic Academy's heritage. A Teleportation Array of this scale and stability is extremely rare, even in this world of advanced magic.

Hyberion continued, "I can directly teleport you to Cardia City, the closest city to the Vast Woods. From there, at your speed, you can reach the Vast Woods in under two hours."

Hearing this, a light flashed in Erza's eyes. "Thank you very much, Senior Hyberion."

"Don't mention it. I'll leave the task of stopping 'Nirvana' from falling into evil hands to you."

Hyberion's expression was solemn. Using his authority as Dean, he activated the Teleportation Magic Circle. The cold magic runes beneath his feet seemed to come alive, and the blue light gradually became dazzling.

"If you are ready, stand in the center of the Magic Circle, and I will immediately teleport you to Cardia City."

When it came to fighting, Fairy Tail Mages were always ready. Hope and Erza said nothing and walked into the center of the Magic Circle.

Instantly, the hall was submerged in blinding blue light. When the light faded, only Hyberion remained in the Teleportation Hall.
