The darkness in the residential district of Daigo's family was absolute at four-thirty in the morning. The silence of the night still dominated Suna, interrupted only by the nearly inaudible hum of the village's ventilation system.

Inside the children's rooms, the sheets remained warm and cozy, offering a perfect refuge against the cold of the outside world.

However, that refuge vanished in an instant.

Without making the slightest sound, Daigo slipped into the rooms of the twins, Daiku and Sunae, and then into Kimimaro's. With a gentle but firm touch on the shoulders of each one, he woke them from their deep sleep.

The children opened their eyes, disoriented by the hour, but their father's serious and resolute gaze immediately indicated to them that it was not the time to complain or ask for five more minutes in bed.

"Dress in your lightest training clothes. I'll wait for you downstairs in five minutes," Daigo whispered in a low voice that brooked no argument.

The three children obeyed by instinct. Kimimaro, showing his usual discipline, was the first to be ready, adjusting the bandages on his calves and making sure his clothes allowed for a full range of motion.

The twins, Daiku and Sunae, barely five years old but gifted with unusual energy, rubbed their eyes sleepily as they slipped on their ninja sandals, wondering what kind of madness or special training required waking up before the first ray of sun touched the horizon of the sand.

When they went downstairs, they found not only Daigo but also an imposing figure waiting for them by the front door: their grandfather, Haru.

The retired shinobi stood tall, arms crossed, with an extremely heavy backpack resting on his broad shoulders.

Without saying a single word, Daigo and Haru led the three children through the quiet, deserted streets of Sunagakure. They crossed the security gates of the great glass dome that protected the village from the harsh desert elements.

The moment they crossed the outer threshold, the change hit them like an invisible wall. Outside the dome, climate control did not exist. At this hour of the early morning, the real desert welcomed them with an icy wind that cut to the bone and a freezing darkness that immediately made the twins shiver from head to toe, as they had not expected such a drastic drop in temperature.

Haru did not stop until they reached a completely flat and open area situated between two colossal dunes of shifting sand—a place where the biting desert wind did not kick up as much dust, but where the cold of the elements was absolute.

Daigo stepped aside, leaning against a large jutting rock with his arms crossed. A nostalgic and deeply happy smile appeared on his face.

Seeing his father preparing to instruct his grandchildren in the same way he had trained him when he was a six-year-old boy was a gift that Daigo treasured in the depths of his being.

Haru stopped dead in his tracks, turning around to face the three children. His eyes, heavy with experience, swept over them with a severity that made them stand at attention immediately, forgetting the cold that had made them shiver just seconds prior.

"Listen to me carefully, all three of you," Haru began, his deep voice carrying over the whistling of the cold wind blowing between the rocks.

"What you are about to learn today is not a common combat style, nor is it a technique you can show off with pride to your friends at the ninja academy. The technique I am going to teach you is called the Seven Heavens Breathing Method (Shichiten Hōhō)."

Daiku and Sunae's eyes widened with curiosity, while Kimimaro maintained an extremely focused and analytical expression.

"This technique is an absolute secret of our family," Haru continued, with a solemnity that chilled the air even more than the desert wind.

"Currently, only three people in this world have learned it: my father, who created it; myself, who was the second to learn it; and your father, Daigo. Starting today, you will begin the path to become the next to master this legacy. But before you take the first step, you must make me an unbreakable promise. Swear by your honor and by the blood of our family that you will never, under any circumstance, reveal the secret of this training to anyone outside of us. This technique is born with our family, and it will die with it if necessary. Understood?"

"We swear, grandfather!" the three children responded in unison, caught up in the immense gravity of the old man's words and the importance of the secret entrusted to them.

Haru nodded stiffly, satisfied with the children's response. He let his heavy backpack drop onto the desert sand with a dull, metallic thud that seemed to instantly vibrate the ground beneath their feet. Opening it, he pulled out twelve heavy, reinforced canvas bags filled with compacted sand and lead.

"Put them on. On your ankles and your wrists. Ten kilograms on each limb," Haru ordered matter-of-factly, tossing the bags at the three children's feet.

Daiku and Sunae blinked, stunned by the number. As they tried to lift the first bags, their faces strained immediately against the dead weight of the canvas.

Kimimaro, without complaining or making a single murmur, took his four corresponding bags and began to tie them with thick ropes around his wrists and ankles. The twins quickly imitated their older brother so as not to be left behind in the demonstration.

As soon as they finished tightening the knots, the physical impact was immediate. The feet of the three children sank deeply into the soft, cold desert sand due to the forty kilograms of added weight.

Every small movement required a monumental effort, as if the desert itself were holding them by the feet, wanting to drag them down to the bottom of the dunes. Even maintaining their balance while standing became a constant challenge that demanded their full attention.

Haru, with a physical agility that completely defied his age, put on his own training weights, which were remarkably larger and heavier than those he had given to the children.

"First part of the training: cardiovascular and mental endurance," Haru announced, stepping into a marching stance toward the horizon.

"We will run ten kilometers through the open desert dunes. But you will not run the way you usually do. You must maintain a specific breathing rhythm that I will teach you right now, and which you must not break under any circumstance."

The children's grandfather took a deep breath, exaggerating the movement of his chest to visually show the process to the three youngsters.

"Inhale constantly through your nose while mentally counting to eight. Hold the air inside your lungs for another eight seconds without exhaling at all. Finally, exhale the air slowly and constantly through your mouth while counting to twelve. A slow, deep rhythm completely controlled by your mind. Do not break the rhythm of the mental count or the breathing, even if you feel your lungs burning from the cold and the effort of the extra weight."

"And what happens if we feel like we can't breathe anymore, or if our bodies fail us from exhaustion, grandfather?" Daiku asked, swallowing hard as he felt the tremendous weight of the ten kilograms on each wrist.

Haru looked at him with a mix of firmness and a hidden paternal warmth in his eyes.

"If you feel that you truly cannot take another step and that your legs are going to collapse, tell me immediately and we will stop to catch our breath for a brief moment. You are only 5 and 7 years old, which means we have a vast amount of time ahead of us to train your bodies. I am in no hurry, but I will not tolerate you giving up out of laziness or lack of willpower."

Daigo, leaning against his rock, nodded with a smile full of nostalgia. He remembered perfectly asking that exact same question at six years old in this very desert, receiving the same identical response from his father.

"Very well, it's time to start. Let's move!" Haru ordered.

The veteran shinobi began to run with a light but extremely firm jog over the shifting sand dune.

The three children immediately launched themselves after him, instantly experiencing the tremendous torture of running with forty additional kilograms distributed across their bodies on such unstable terrain, where each step made them sink up to their calves.

The first two kilometers were a test of pure, raw willpower. Daiku and Sunae felt their calves quickly grow numb from the constant effort of pulling their feet out of the shifting sand to take the next step.

Kimimaro, thanks to his bone structure enhanced by his bloodline, maintained better stability during the run, but the weight on his wrists made the constant arm pumping needed to maintain balance extremely difficult.

"Inhale... two, three, four... hold... two, three, four... exhale... two, three, four..." Sunae muttered mentally, desperately trying to keep her chest from heaving in an uncontrolled, wild manner.

The icy morning wind of Sunagakure entered her nose like tiny needles of ice, making keeping her breathing controlled an extremely painful task.

Whenever one of the twins attempted a desperate gasp through their mouth to get more oxygen all at once, Haru's firm voice would ring out loudly from the front, guiding them without looking back.

"Do not break the rhythm of the count! If you gasp through your mouth, your lungs will lose the internal pressure necessary to resist the physical strain of the weight! Control your mind, and your body will obey the command if you impose it with force!"

Daigo followed the route at a safe distance behind them, moving with fantastic grace over the sand without sinking a single millimeter due to his absolute physical control.

His heart swelled with immense pride seeing his children and Kimimaro struggle with such determination under his father's tutelage.

He knew perfectly well that this initial pain was the indispensable foundation upon which immeasurable physical power would be built for the future of the village.

Upon reaching kilometer eight, the sun finally began to rise commandingly over the eastern desert horizon.

The freezing morning cold dissipated in a matter of minutes, quickly replaced by a dry, suffocating, and stifling heat that began to warm the sand beneath their feet, evaporating the sweat soaking the youngsters' clothes.

By the time they completed the agreed ten kilometers and returned exhausted to the starting point, the three children fell to their knees on the hot sand, their chests rising and falling in a rhythmic but painful manner, trying to maintain the breathing count Haru had imposed on them.

"Do not lie on the ground for too long. Prolonged rest cools down worked muscles and makes them highly prone to injury," Haru ordered immediately, without showing the slightest trace of fatigue, exhaustion, or sweat on his own sun-weathered face.

"Second part of the daily training: physical strength and lung expansion."

The children, making what seemed like a superhuman effort, stood up once more on their trembling legs, feeling as though their limbs weighed a ton due to the bags of sand and lead hanging from them.

"We will do one hundred push-ups with the weight bags on your wrists and ankles," Haru instructed, lowering himself into a plank position on the sand of the dune.

Daiku and Sunae got into position next to Kimimaro. At first, the natural rivalry between the twins drove them to perform the first twenty push-ups with perfect form and speed, trying to prove to each other who was the stronger and more worthy of inheriting the family technique.

However, upon reaching push-up number fifty, the accumulated weight of the kilograms began to take a violent toll on them. Daiku's arms began to shake violently, and his chest hit the soft sand with each repetition.

Upon reaching number eighty, Sunae collapsed completely onto the hot sand, the muscles in her shoulders burning as if they were coated in fire.

Haru made no attempt to help them up, to take their hands, or to offer easy words of comfort.

He stood over them, observing their posture and counting each repetition aloud in a monotonous but relentless tone that rang in their ears.

"Eighty-one... eighty-two... maintain the tension in your abdomen and arms... eighty-three..."

Kimimaro, clenching his teeth so hard it felt like they might break, completed the one hundred push-ups while maintaining a composure that astonished Daigo, even though his face was completely pale from the extreme effort of lifting his own body with the added weight.

The twins, inspired by their older brother's unwavering willpower, dragged, pushed, and forced themselves until they completed the final push-up of the set, panting in pain but without completely breaking the controlled breathing pattern their grandfather demanded of them.

"No rest. We transition immediately to two hundred sit-ups on the ground," Haru continued relentlessly, giving them no time to digest their exhaustion.

"Each lift of your torso must be perfectly coordinated with your breathing cycle. Inhale as you lower your body to the sand, hold your breath at the point of maximum effort as you rise, and exhale constantly as you descend once more."

The physical torture continued for the next hour without offering them any reprieve. The two hundred sit-ups pushed the core muscles of the three children to their absolute limit. Afterward, Haru guided them on foot toward the imposing base of one of the limestone cliffs that surrounded Suna's outer boundary.

Daigo approached his father and spoke in a low voice.

"Don't you think you're being too hard on them, Dad?" Daigo asked.

Hearing his son, Haru just sighed, breaking his tough-ninja persona.

"A bit, but these brats need it. Don't have pity on them; those three are absolute physical monsters, and if you look closely at their bodies, they can still handle more," Haru said with a proud smile.

"Eh? So you're saying they are stronger than I was at their age?" Daigo asked, looking at his father.

"That's right. You were a weakling compared to your children, but thanks to your hard training, they are now the monsters they are," Haru said.

"I see. Daiku and Sunae showed they weren't normal since they were babies, and neither did Kimimaro, being a Kaguya who awakened his bloodline early."

"That's right. But even though they are strong, there is something that makes them even stronger. Do you know what it is?" Haru asked Daigo.

Shaking his head, Daigo let his father explain.

"The greatest advantage and strength Daiku and Sunae have is being twins, and their personality competitive force then to tried harder every time. Meanwhile, Kimimaro, being the older brother, wants to be the perfect role model for his younger siblings. Daigo, life has truly blessed you, and I am proud of you," Haru finished, then walked toward the children.

He left Daigo behind, stunned by his father's words. Inadvertently, a single tear rolled down his left eye the only real one he had left.

"Next training phase, brats! Vertical climbing!" Haru announced, pointing to the immense rock face rising toward the sky.

"You will climb up and down this stone cliff ten consecutive times using only the physical strength of your hands and feet. The ten-kilogram weight bags will remain tied to your wrists and ankles to increase endurance and grip strength in the crevices. No chakra use is permitted to stick to the rock under any circumstance. Only pure physical strength and willpower."

Kimimaro was the first to take the step, finding small grips in the rock cracked by the sun and wind. Daiku and Sunae followed close behind, trying to mimic his fluidity.

By the middle of the fifth full ascent, the twins' fingers were completely numb, aching, and covered in a fine limestone dust, and every inch gained required absolute mental concentration not to lose their grip completely and plunge down onto the desert sand.

Daigo watched the scene from below with millimetric attention, ready to intervene in a fraction of a second if any of the children lost their grip on the stone entirely, but his intervention was never needed. The family's tenacity and pride ran deep through the veins of the three little ones.

After completing the tenth and final descent of the stone cliff, the children finally collapsed onto the hot desert sand, completely exhausted and pushed to their limits.

Their muscles trembled uncontrollably due to the buildup of lactic acid, and their clothes were soaked in sweat and entirely covered in limestone rock dust.

Haru walked over to them slowly, crossed his arms over his chest, and observed them with a gaze that finally filtered a deep hint of pride, affection, and satisfaction for the incredible performance his grandchildren had shown on their first day.

"Each of these grueling physical exercises we have performed today under the desert sun has a very clear purpose for the development and mastery of the technique," Haru explained in a measured voice, allowing the children to listen as they lay in the sand, recovering their breath and comforting their aching muscles.

"Your lungs need to constantly and forcefully expand beyond their normal biological limits to be able to process a much larger amount of oxygen in a significantly shorter time. Your heart must strengthen to its limit to pump extra blood to your entire muscular system without failing or fatiguing under the tremendous internal pressure you will generate."

The children's grandfather crouched in front of them, looking them squarely in the eye individually so they would engrave his words into their memory forever.

"The Seven Heavens Breathing Method is not a simple jutsu that you activate with common hand signs or by spending chakra carelessly and haphazardly in combat. It is a state of absolute communion between your maximum lung capacity, your accelerated blood flow, and your accumulated physical strength. If you attempt to activate the technique without having a truly strong, resilient body prepared to withstand the tremendous internal air pressure entering your system, your own lungs will collapse from within and your hearts will stop dead from the massive strain. That is why this pain you feel in your muscles today is the one and only true, safe path to our family's real power."

Haru stood up straight, adjusting the heavy backpack on his shoulders as the desert sun reached a high position in the sky, indicating that the hot morning was coming to an end and they needed to return before the desert became even more hostile.

"Starting today, in every free moment you have during your daily activities within the comfort of the village, you will strictly continue to practice this basic breathing routine I have taught you," Haru ordered with indisputable firmness.

"I want you to dedicate one continuous hour, without interruptions or distractions of any kind, every single afternoon to practicing this breathing while sitting in a meditative posture. Inhale for eight seconds through your nose. Hold the air in your lungs for eight full seconds. Exhale slowly and consistently for twelve seconds through your mouth. Maintain that constant cycle without losing the mental count even once. That will be your permanent daily homework from now on."

"Yes, grandfather!" the three children answered in unison with the last breath of energy remaining in their tired bodies, showing that their fighting spirit remained intact despite the exertion.

Daigo finally stepped away from the rock where he had been observing the entire process in absolute silence and with a great smile of happiness.

"You have done a truly exceptional job today. I am extremely proud of your willpower," Daigo said with a warm smile that comforted the little ones' aching bodies.

"It is time to return to the comfort, shade, and temperate climate of the village so you can eat properly, hydrate your bodies, and rest your tired muscles before the afternoon. The path to mastering the Seven Heavens is long, difficult, and steep, but I know perfectly well that each of you possesses the necessary willpower in your blood to reach the top and dominate our family's legacy."

With the burning desert sun shining at full strength over the endless golden dunes outside the technological borders of the village, the family group began the slow and silent journey back toward the imposing gates of Suna's Utopia.

The three children walked with trembling, tired legs and slumped shoulders from the tremendous effort of the morning training, but with a new, bright, and unwavering flame of determination, discipline, and family pride burning fiercely in their young hearts, ready to continue practicing the breathing that would make them living legends of the sand under the guidance of their father and grandfather.
