The deep basement beneath the Kazekage building buzzed with an intensity never before seen in the history of the Hidden Sand. The solid rock walls seemed to vibrate in unison with the heartbeat emerging from the depths. Surrounded by Karinna, Sasori, and Baki, Daigo completed the definitive connection. He thrust his hands, imbued with Shōton chakra and perfectly combined with the power of Sage Mode, directly into the underground Ryūmyaku chakra pathways.
The crystal channel fused with the Ryūmyaku leak coming from the ruins of Rōran. A burst of purple light and crystalline flashes coursed through the village's foundations, expanding like an artificial nervous system. Sunagakure now had a heart of infinite energy beating right beneath its feet, ready to be claimed.
Days later, the echo of that underground vibration shifted to the surface, transformed into a palpable tension inside the grand meeting room of the Kazekage Tower. Daigo called an emergency session with the Village Council, the shinobi corps generals, and the leaders of the sand's most important clanes. The atmosphere in the massive circular room was one of total anticipation and a thick, almost suffocating silence.
The elders (Chiyo, Ebizu, and others), the younger new members of the council, and the clan representatives were all present: the Yuki clan, the Museifu clan, the Houki clan, the Dokuhebi clan, the representative of the Kaguya, the Hako clan, and Pakura, representing the Shakuton lineage, visibly pregnant at around four months. Finally, the leaders of all the village divisions attended, including Puppetry (Sasori), ANBU (Rasa), Sealing (Karinna), Medical, and the Academy; even the Third Kazekage, though looking older and more tired, maintained great importance and political weight in the village.
Right in front of everyone sat Daigo, looking over the crowd with a serious face that showed no emotion. The only things visible were his single natural pink eye and the gem on his left side, glowing with a cold, constant intensity. Seeing that everyone had arrived, Daigo stood up and moved to the front of the massive village map, laying out the idea he had always kept in mind in a clear and blunt manner.
He had spent days thinking of thousands of ways to pitch his plan for the village, and he was sure many would understand, especially the fresh minds on the council. The old-timers might have more questions, but he was ready; that was exactly why he had changed so many things to allow these transformations to happen. If he recalled correctly, the Sand had always remained on the defensive in the desert, occasionally raiding but gaining nothing more than dead troops. And since his coronation, he could not remember a single defeat.
Thanks to him, Sunagakure achieved the first feat of its kind in the history of the elemental nations: acquiring territory from the most powerful village in the world (Konoha), along with the city of Kanzaki and trade routes that helped with the economy and water issues, even if shortages still existed. Then they secured the full backing of the Daimyō; though it wasn't a clean deal, it was a necessary one. They also built tunnels across the entire desert, except for the west, to trade and travel safely away from sandstorms and the harsh weather. Then came the Seven Swords of the Mist and the Seven-Tails beast.
If Daigo had to describe his reign over Sunagakure, he would call it the best. None of his predecessors could compare to him, and he was certain that even on his deathbed, people would still speak of Daigo, the Crystal Demon, the strongest and most important Kazekage in history. The Kazekage who never suffered a single defeat. But now, with what he was about to do, he was guaranteed to get a statue.
Adjusting his Kazekage cloak and coughing subtly to draw the attention of the packed room, he spoke:
"It is time to set the true future of Sunagakure in motion," Daigo announced, his firm voice capturing the attention of everyone present and echoing off the stone walls of the circular room. "As you surely know by now, I was away searching for the energy source we needed, and that is the Ryūmyaku—a vein of natural chakra that is infinite. A few days ago, thanks to my Sage Mode, I was able to connect this infinite energy for our use," Daigo explained, pausing to let everyone digest the information. "Now, with the flow of the Ryūmyaku secured beneath our foundations, we will not limit ourselves to using it just to turn on lights or power workshops. I am going to use my crystal element to erect a giant Shōton dome that will completely cover the entire village."
The impact of the statement hit the room like a shockwave. For a few seconds, nobody said a word. The idea of a giant crystal dome was insane enough on its own, but Yler wasted no time passing blueprint sheets to everyone across the tables.
"A dome... that encloses the entire village?" Chiyo was the first to break the silence, intertwining her fingers over the table. Her analytical gaze shifted from the blueprints to Daigo's expressionless face. "Daigo-sama, I admit your achievements are unprecedented, and I have always trusted you, but... a structure of that size would be the perfect target for combined elemental Jutsus. The weight of the desert and the constant erosion of the wind would crack it in weeks. Maintaining an active shield of that magnitude would drain the chakra reserves of our entire ninja corps in a matter of days. It would become our own tomb if it ever collapses."
"Chiyo-sama raises a valid point," Rasa chimed in, crossing his arms in his tightly fitted ANBU uniform. His stern gaze evaluated the vectors on the map. "From a security standpoint, a rigid barrier that gets destroyed would drop tons of material right onto the residential area. Furthermore, how do you plan to ventilate the village? The heat trapped under a crystal would suffocate us faster than an invasion from Iwagakure. Rather than lacking faith in your vision, I simply have doubts," Rasa reaffirmed.
Ebizu nodded alongside his sister, tapping his cane lightly against the floor. "Daigo, I thought you were done with your grand ideas, but you always surprise me. As my sister said, our trust has been placed in you, but this vastly exceeds our current economy, not to mention the sheer manpower that would be required."
"Allow me to clear up your doubts," Daigo replied, keeping his calm tone as he rested both hands on the edge of the table. "I understand your concerns based on the village's past. But as I told you, this dome will not depend on the chakra reserves of our shinobi, nor will it rely on my own stamina once it is built. It will be directly connected to the Ryūmyaku network I just stabilized below. The infinite energy will flow through the crystal channels automatically. If a storm or an enemy attack manages to fracture the Shōton, the very pressure of the Ryūmyaku will regenerate it instantly, without anyone having to expend a single drop of their own chakra. It will be an eternal, self-sustaining defense that will protect Sunagakure even when I am no longer alive."
A murmur of amazement swept through the younger section of the council. Several of the new members leaned forward, visibly thrilled by the implications.
"Automatic?" intervened Koi, leader of the Houki clan and councilman of economics, adjusting his glasses while processing the blueprints with his eidetic memory. His analytical mind was already calculating the financial impact. "If the regeneration of the structure requires no manpower or energy expenditure from our village, the maintenance costs for our outer defenses will be cut by fifty percent. We can reallocate those funds directly to production, internal trade, and securing our foreign commercial contracts. As the financial brain of this village, I approve of this without hesitation; it is perfect for our economy."
The Third Kazekage, sitting rigidly in his chair with a posture that betrayed the wear and tear of the years and the aftermath of his last battle, fixed his tired eyes on the map. His voice, raspy but retaining the intact authority of a former leader, silenced the murmurs of the others. "Temperature control remains the Achilles' heel of your plan, Daigo. An impenetrable crystal will shield us from the sand, but it will cook us under the midday sun. Explain how you will solve that before we give our approval."
"That is where the second phase comes in," Daigo continued, pointing to the central core of the dome's blueprint. "We will use the technology and ideas that Yler brought with him from the Land of Snow. His seasonal generator, modified and adapted to feed on the immense power of the Ryūmyaku, will be installed in the central axis of the tower. With this device under our control, we will regulate the dome's internal temperature, creating a cool, comfortable, and optimal climate for living and training, wiping out the heatwaves that have historically killed our elders and children during times of drought."
Pakura, sitting at the side of the clan table, placed a protective hand over her four-month-old belly. Her eyes gleamed with a mix of pride and technical awe. "A controlled climate inside the desert... That wouldn't just change military life, Daigo. It will change everything, including the development of future generations in Suna. No one else will have to suffer from the desert heat."
"And that is not all," Daigo added, turning his gaze toward the representatives of the newly integrated lineages. "With the deep drilling we have conducted, we have extracted massive amounts of water from the underground. Inside the protection of the dome, that water won't evaporate from direct sunlight. We will create a massive artificial oasis around the village, a green lung with real vegetation."
The leader of the Yuki clan stood up, his usually cold and distant expression breaking under sheer disbelief. "Kazekage-sama... an oasis and controlled humidity inside Sunagakure... What does that mean for my people? You know our Ice Style techniques suffer a severe penalty in this arid climate due to the lack of water particles in the air."
"It means your clan will have a residential and training sector optimized for your needs," Daigo replied firmly. "In that humid and cool environment, your shinobi will have the ideal conditions to develop their full potential without needing to carry water scrolls. The ultimate goal is for your youths to train there until they learn to extract and condense ice directly from the humidity of the controlled air itself, elevating the Yuki clan's Kekkei Genkai to a level they could never achieve in Kirigakure."
The representative of the Kaguya, a Suna ninja assigned to look after the interests and integration of the newly brought children, nodded enthusiastically. "The Kaguya need a high-resistance area for their physical training without destroying the public infrastructure. A reinforced ground and a stable climate will prevent violent outbursts caused by heat stress. This is perfect to keep them calm."
The leader of the Dokuhebi clan intervened, stroking the golden-scaled head of one of his desert komodo dragons, which hissed softly at his side. His arms, covered in bite scars, tensed against the table. "If the internal climate is stable and cool inside the dome, my reptiles won't suffer winter casualties from the nighttime freezing, and the venom breeding grounds run by my son and our future generations will thrive. The production of antidotes and toxins for the medical corps will triple. We will be the fangs I promised you, Daigo-sama."
The leader of the Museifu clan, Sokir, adjusted his forehead protector with determination. "With the dome blocking external storms, we will need the seasonal generator to create stable internal currents. My new students—those talented wind users we are integrating into the clan thanks to your support, Daigo-sama—need a training zone with controlled gusts to master our techniques. If you grant us that space..."
"There is no issue with that requirement. After this meeting, speak with Yler and give him all the details; each clan will have their own," Daigo stated.
"The Hako clan is interested in helping to strengthen this dome, and if possible, taking charge of its maintenance and everything necessary," the leader of said clan added, closing his notepad with a sharp thud of satisfaction.
"That sounds good. I will count on you once the barrier is made; I'll let you know," Daigo said.
Sasori, from his seat in the puppetry division, looked at the gears of the seasonal generator on Yler's papers with an almost imperceptible smile on his face. "Infinite energy from the Ryūmyaku, no dust to clog the joints of my creations, and a climate-controlled central workshop... Daigo, you are turning this village into the largest puppet workshop in the world. The autonomous units we brought from Rōran will function at one hundred percent capacity within this optimized environment."
Karinna smiled from the sealing sector, crossing her arms. "The runic matrix I designed for energy distribution won't face any weather interference. The Ryūmyaku flow map is clean under these specifications."
The technical discussion went on for over an hour, but it was no longer a debate of opposition; it was one of planning. Every clan, every division, from the medical corps to the academy directors, offered their input, seeing how their respective areas of expertise would multiply in efficiency thanks to their leader's vision. The old arguments of scarcity and the isolation of Sunagakure were buried beneath the reality of the eternal crystal and the energy of the planet.
Faced with Daigo's final words and the sheer scale of the utopia he was unfolding before their eyes, silence reclaimed the room once more—but this time, it was a silence of absolute respect, awe, and reverence. No one on the council, neither the elders like Chiyo or the Third Kazekage, nor the proudest clan leaders, could find a single flaw in the destiny Daigo had engineered for them.
One by one, starting with the Third Kazekage and followed immediately by Chiyo, Ebizu, Rasa, and all the clan leaders, they began to stand up. Without saying a word, all the powerful men and women of Sunagakure bowed their heads firmly toward Daigo, lowering them in a unanimous gesture of submission and the deepest respect a shinobi leader could ever receive.
Daigo remained standing at the front of the room, his pink eye and his left gem reflecting the light of the dome that would soon rise above their heads, beholding the absolute loyalty of his unified village.
