Chapter 6 - Family Feud II

(Evan's POV : 2 years of age)

I woke up this morning, relatively peacefully, which is a luxury I rarely enjoy. This either means one of two things: either they are gone or are just too busy.

I didn't have to wait long as the door opened, and my loving little half- sister who I would rather belong in hell, came in with my breakfast. It seemed that she was just waiting for me to wake up.

" Good morning brother. Sleep well?" She asked in her usual cheerful voice before it turned to one filled with rage and scorn, " You useless waste of space. I had to wait for you for a full 2 minutes. I had a test today and I failed to get a perfect score, just one failed question made father scold me..."

She cracked her knuckles and looked at me hatefully," Thankfully your not completely useless. Now , shall we start..."

She didn't even wait for me to answer before literally burning me till my skin turned black and blood, which flowed freely, started boiling. Still , I refused to give her the satisfaction of seeing me scream. It continued for quite a while , with her healing me in between the torture then they entered. The orange heads.

The seemed to be in the same situation as ,'her'. The moment the saw the scene they conjured fire spells, though weak , enough to cause unimaginable pain.

The assault rained on me like a furious rainstorm.' Seriously, I know I wasn't exactly nice in my past life, but this... and I'm still a two-year old.'

I didn't know what I did to deserve this but it must be so bad it made a mass serial killer look like an angel. The assault continued then 3 green heads , two were male and one was a female, all were older than me ,but did that stop the three golden eyes strangers from joining, hell no.

They used wind magic to send wind spikes, blades and various other attacks. To make things worse, the girl used dark magic. Dread washed over me , threatening to drown me.

I'd rather have the family burn me to a crisp , heal me and repeat, than be attacked by dark magic. Sure dark magic was destructive but hers, hers was the kind meant for emotional damage.

I watched her furiously prepare a spell as tears silently streamed down my cheeks. My body was frozen in fear, anyone could mistake me for a statue, then...

*Boom*

It hit me, despair, fear ,anger self-loathing, sadness, helplessness and many other dark feelings consumed me. If it wasn't for the fact that I remembered I had a system, although it never responded, I would have succumbed long ago.

One of the wind users suggested they put me next to the training dummies in the sun to try and increase their precision.

I felt my throat clamp shut and my hands flail helplessly. I remembered the time I placed my hand under filtered sunlight that passed through the small window. It hurt worse than anything I've ever known and now they want to 'play' with me under direct sunlight.

' I'm fucked.' That was the only thought ringing in my head.

(Normal POV. 1 year later)

The 'caretakers' who were Evan's half-siblings had taken him to the field and discovered his 'allergy'.

Now , a year later, another caring sibling was added. He had a bulky build ,red hair falling to his shoulders and the signature, golden eyes.

He was clearly the typical 'brawn over brains' kinda person. He took a wooden great sword off a weapon rack. Evan's face palled as her realised that this person was insanely strong.

He had seen one of the male green heads try to lift it but it didn't move an inch, but this muscle head was swinging it like it was a branch, no, a twig.

Evan realised that he had only seen 9 of his siblings, excluding himself, and only one of his step- moms. That meant that either this idiot was the ' golden child ' or he was still hiding.

The bulky dude turned towards the blue heads, " Keep an active heal on him." They nodded profusely and kept casting healing spells over and over, as if trying to stack them.

Evan was confused until he felt the flat end of the wooden great sword slam into his ribs, sending him back and into the stone wall of the training grounds, spider web- like cracks spread on it.

Evan felt some ribs crack, many break and a few shatter. He also felt a piercing pain where his lung was and every breath was painful, but just as quickly as it happened, his body started repairing.

He understood why they cast the spells on him. He lifted his head to look at the giant figure walking, while dragging the great sword , towards at that moment, three beautiful women walked in.

He recognised the blue head, but not the rest, though it wasn't hard. The green head and crimson red head were mother's of their children. The red head spoke up.

"Darius , honey. After your done come call us while the rest of you watch him." The way she spoke in that sweet voice, signified he wasn't worth her mentioning in her command.

Darius, the bulky red head, nodded and threw great sword towards my direction.

I managed to move a little to the left before the sword struck and almost tore my shoulder off, embedding itself in the wall. My shoulder was literally hanging on by a thread sized vein.

The pain was... immense,to say the least. Then the healing began ,though Evan had to hold his arm in place, in the off chance it fell and left him limbless forever.

After a few seconds, it was as good as new, correction, as good as before but still sizzling under the sun. The ones who say the sun is hot simply because their sweating , don't know what 'hot' means.

Darius arrived in the blink of an eye and punched Evan's solar plexus without a shred of mercy. He barked at the blue haired girl to keep me awake and I saw her hurriedly preparing a dark spell.

One thing I feared other than the sun and a carefully, no matter how fast , a dark spell was conjured was one that was conjured way too quickly and under immense pressure.

"Pl-please...don't..." Evan said, his voice hoarse barely above a whisper but Darius heard it and he smirked. He gave the girl a sideways glance and she conjured her spell.

It hit me like a truck and I felt like my mind was being torn to shreds. She did her job alright, but why a spell this painful.

' If I hear this isn't her strongest spell, I might just break down. Don't they remember I'm two fucking years old? Why was she granted a mind based dark affinity? Why not necromancy or something else?'

Evan felt his mind tear down and he heard the conversation between Darius and the girl clearly, though he didn't know why.

"Is this your strongest spell? Seems kind...weak." Darius said mockingly while the girl answered nervously.

"No-no , brother. It i-is a spell I learned a few months back, you may as well consider it one of the weakest..." she answered, gaining confidence.

Silent tears left Evan's clenched eyes as he refused to believe what he heard, while still clenching his head tightly.

"Hmmm, good. Watch over him , I'm going for our moms." Darius stood and left and soon, so did the spell's pain. He heard his younger sister speak upto the others.

"Guys, I know we have done things to our brother, but let's put all that aside . I ask you all to pray for brother, for we also need our punching bag."

All of them held their hands, clasped together as if in a group prayer. Evan watched in silence but he didn't,no, he chose not to understand. Whatever she meant, he knew, it's anything but good.

His head snaped towards the hallway where he saw the three women wearing training gear and walking with quite confidence.

' I'm cooked aren't I,' he thought as they entered the grounds.
