The members of the Ōtsutsuki Clan were generally quite straightforward.
Straightforward in the sense that they viewed the humans of the ninja world as lower lifeforms, no different from monkeys. Instinctively, they did not consider humans to be an intelligent species on the same level as themselves.
Urashiki was a little different.
He spoke fairly politely and occasionally even used honorific language. Most of the time, though, he came across as sarcastic and condescending. At least he didn't constantly act superior.
Even in battle, his habit of toying with opponents often led him to underestimate them.
But all of that depended on one condition:
His image had to remain intact.
And now, that image had just been shattered by a smooth little combo.
Adult Sasuke instantly swapped positions with Urashiki using Amenotejikara. Then Boruto, who had been waiting for the opportunity, slammed a Rasengan straight into him.
Urashiki was blasted away, crashing through several trees before slamming into the ground.
He lay there staring blankly at the sky, as though life had suddenly lost all meaning.
With the physique of a pure-blooded Ōtsutsuki, he naturally wasn't seriously injured.
But being outplayed and wounded by a bunch of monkey-like lower lifeforms was a humiliation he simply could not accept.
Only by killing every last one of them could he wash away that shame.
Urashiki's fishing rod was his personal weapon, a manifestation of his own power. After leaving his hand, it automatically returned to his side and no longer restrained Naruto.
Adult Sasuke appeared beside them.
"Naruto, are you alright?"
"I'm fine. I don't know how Sasuke's doing, though."
After the successful ambush, Boruto also arrived.
The three of them ran over to the crater together. Seeing that young Sasuke had already been treated and was no longer in any real danger, they finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Young Sasuke's injuries weren't serious. Urashiki's immense strength had simply smashed him into the ground and left him dazed for a while.
He had already recovered.
Shinobi were generally quite resistant to blunt-force impacts.
He asked, "Did you take care of that guy?"
Boruto scratched his head.
"I think so?"
Adult Sasuke shook his head.
"Impossible. Members of the Ōtsutsuki Clan aren't that easy to kill."
Sure enough, Urashiki slowly walked toward them.
Unlike the relaxed smile he'd worn before, his face was now twisted with rage. Malice gleamed within his blue Rinnegan.
"You bastards. A bunch of trick-playing monkeys. Damn lower lifeforms. I'm going to kill every one of you."
Adult Sasuke immediately said, "Get out of here. I'll handle this myself."
Urashiki sneered.
"Bastards. None of you are leaving here alive."
He reached his right hand into the red-glowing fish basket on his back and pulled out a massive sphere of Fire Release chakra.
Crushing it in his hand, he transformed it into countless streams of fire that shot into the sky. They rapidly expanded before plunging downward, blanketing Sasuke and the others like a barrage of missiles.
Then came Lightning Release.
Wind Release.
And more.
In Urashiki's hands, the Five Nature Transformations were little more than marbles casually tossed around, yet each attack carried terrifying power.
This was one of his abilities: absorb ninjutsu, then release it again with even greater force.
Most members of the Ōtsutsuki Clan didn't use the Five Nature Transformations themselves.
Some of them simply acted as transporters for other people's ninjutsu.
In an instant, the entire area was engulfed in earth-shaking explosions.
The forest became a sea of flames.
Lightning flashed wildly.
Massive boulders rained from the sky.
Wind blades tore through everything in their path.
Whirling torrents of water ground relentlessly like millstones.
Any living creature caught inside would be crushed and torn apart.
But none of it posed any threat to Adult Sasuke.
He instantly activated his Complete Body Susanoo.
Its chakra wings folded inward, protecting everyone inside.
Young Sasuke stared blankly at the enormous purple giant.
"So this is Susanoo... It's incredible."
Adult Sasuke had no time to pay attention to his younger self's admiration.
Urashiki was already charging at him.
Drawing his longsword, Sasuke rushed forward to meet the enraged Ōtsutsuki head-on.
It was a battle between Rinnegan users.
A duel of Rinnegan against Rinnegan.
Adult Sasuke had Urashiki's crimson-paper-crane teleportation, time rewind, ninjutsu absorption, and other convenient abilities figured out after several rounds of fierce combat.
Urashiki had plenty of powerful abilities, but he relied too heavily on them and lacked flexibility in combat. Drawing on his vast experience, Adult Sasuke quickly identified the general weaknesses of those abilities.
Because of chakra preparation time, Urashiki could not use all of his abilities without limit. There was a matter of resource allocation.
In other words, when he devoted himself fully to one ability, the others would inevitably be severely restricted or even become unusable.
Calculating that another time-rewind cycle had just ended, Adult Sasuke pointed his sword toward the sky and unleashed an extremely powerful Lightning Release technique.
Lightning Release: Kirin!
Crack!
Lightning exploded across the heavens.
A blinding flash illuminated the entire area, forcing everyone to shut their eyes.
Thanks to Urashiki's earlier bombardment with the Five Nature Transformations, a massive bank of electrically charged storm clouds had already gathered overhead.
A ferocious beast formed from lightning crawled out from the clouds and crashed down upon Urashiki.
But it accomplished very little.
Urashiki had already activated his ninjutsu absorption ability.
The Lightning Release merely became part of his chakra.
Adult Sasuke seized the opportunity.
Using Amenotejikara, he instantly appeared behind Urashiki.
His lightning-cloaked blade pierced straight through Urashiki's heart.
A righteous backstab.
The moment the strike landed, Adult Sasuke immediately withdrew his sword and retreated.
He didn't know whether that would be enough to kill Urashiki.
All he could do was wait and see.
If it failed, then he would simply find another way to kill him.
Every member of the Ōtsutsuki Clan was different.
Among all the battles Adult Sasuke had experienced, Ōtsutsuki Kinshiki had been the weakest. In the end, he willingly allowed himself to be refined into a chakra pill and consumed by Ōtsutsuki Momoshiki for the sake of the main family he served.
Ōtsutsuki Momoshiki, meanwhile, had been defeated during his and Naruto's joint assault, only to be unexpectedly finished off by Boruto.
Ōtsutsuki Kaguya was practically immortal and could only be sealed away.
As for the current Ōtsutsuki Urashiki, he wasn't sure.
Unlike Kaguya, who had directly consumed the fruit of the God Tree, Urashiki and the other Ōtsutsuki members consumed chakra-refined pills.
The advantage was that their minds were less susceptible to corruption by a planet's violent will. They could strengthen themselves without taking enormous risks.
The disadvantage was that they were not truly immortal.
If they were struck by ninjutsu while not using their absorption ability, or if they suffered a fatal wound to a vital point, they could still die.
Urashiki stared at the wound in his chest in disbelief.
Then he looked at Adult Sasuke.
He seemed unable to understand why he had been injured again and again by lower lifeforms.
"Why? I already stole your chakra. Twice, in fact. How did you recover your strength so quickly?"
Adult Sasuke replied coldly, "I have no interest in telling you."
Urashiki narrowed his eyes.
"The chakra I steal isn't supposed to recover that easily. Someone in this time-space must have a way to heal you, right?"
"And when I first arrived, I noticed something else. Both the ordinary ninjutsu of this world and even nature itself contain things I dislike."
"This isn't Konoha from twenty years ago."
"This is an entirely new world."
"A completely new Konoha."
"Am I right?"
Adult Sasuke frowned.
"At a time like this, that's what you're concerned about?"
"Of course. I'm very curious to see who managed to restore your chakra in such a short time."
"There's no need. Urashiki, it's time for you to die."
Urashiki suddenly put on the same relaxed smile he had worn at the beginning.
"Die? Sasuke, I don't die that easily."
His smile widened.
"You made a mistake."
"Just now..."
"You should've cut off my head."
Before Sasuke could react, Urashiki suddenly swallowed his own crimson-glowing fish basket.
Then he dug out both of his blue Rinnegan.
Crunch. Crunch.
He stuffed them into his mouth, chewed several times, and swallowed them whole.
The brutal and bizarre act completely shattered the minds of the four youngsters watching from afar.
If you can't beat your opponent, you turn yourself into an all-you-can-eat buffet?
