Chapter 1 - Old blood

``They called us 'Returners'. At least, until they find another term for it... two years have passed since my arrival here. This new era is... well, I would like to say 'interesting'? It will have to do``

The woman pondered and pondered as she made books float with a small movement of her hand, readign their titles before makign them float in their places. That woman with the airs of a librarian, hair tied up with a cute Olympic Torch hair-pin, wearing glasses and a sweater was Hecate. She was the first Returner, and the Greek goddess of magic, well, witchcraft, but it's magic too.

Since she came back, Hecate adapted auickly to life in this new era. Mostly out of boredom, she decided to become the librarian for the school's library, said school would be the one in which most, even if not all, Returners would be sent to learn and adapt to modernity.

"Th-thanks again, lady Hecate... For the glasses..." A woman said, her tone as hesitant as her willingness to look at Hecate in the eyes. "Mhm, it's nothing. I will have new glasses ready for you in six months for when you will need them, Medusa."

Of course, as soon as Medusa left, someone else came in. "Lady Hecate. I thought you would have gone back home by this hour." The woman said in a soft tone.

"I could say the same for you. And please, if anyone must be called lady, it's you, lady Amalthea."

"Truly? I didn't do much... Well, I suppose it was brave when looking back on it... But no matter! I wanted to chat tomorrow, but as you are here now, I suppose I can say it here. I think we don't have a nurse, do we?"

Hecate took a moment before answering "we do have one, but she only comes one day a week and only a few hours, for reasons unknown to me. Knowing you, you want us to have one that can be here all week for the entire school day? Let us skip to the part where you give me names."

"W-well, the issue is... I don't have any... No medical students here studying to be nurses would work here if not for extra credits, but we can't employ a pro because we technically already have one, and of course there's no way we'll convince anyone to let a Returner do it even if they were doctors..." Amalthea said, the slight hesitation and dissapointment heavy in her voice

"An issue indeed... now, I will go back to sorting books whilst you sulk."
