Subsequently, Ryun once again attempted to understand the power of the Cleavage Eye's other techniques.
The Intimidation technique could be used without forming hand seals; just by looking at the opponent, it could forcibly interrupt their train of thought with spiritual energy.
Although the interruption was brief, this mechanism, which could be activated without needing eye contact—almost a replica of Kotoamatsukami—became incredibly absurd when combined with the unreasonable power of the Gentle Fist to instantly kill an enemy.
The result was nearly equivalent to the Mangekyō Sharingan's instant kill of low-level ninja, only the Gentle Fist destroyed the opponent's physical body, while the Sharingan destroyed their spirit.
As for the Puppet Control aspect, Hinata and Hanabi could only simply control small-sized puppets, and according to them, they felt this technique was somewhat subtle.
The puppets they controlled had almost no combat ability; in comparison, they could achieve better results using their chakra threads. Therefore, they guessed whether this technique had some use outside of battle.
Regarding this, Ryun, as an outsider, naturally had no better ideas, and since this was within the simulation, there was no way for them to test it out and determine its purpose.
Ryun could only attribute this phenomenon to the fact that controlling puppets was essentially an ability on the level of the Tenseigan, which currently had no particularly good use.
Just as the Rinnegan had abilities on the level of controlling the Six Paths of Pain and the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, it was estimated that this Puppet Control ability of the Tenseigan corresponded to that.
At this point, Ryun had more or less understood all the gains from this simulation.
He returned to the real world, a hint of excitement still in his eyes.
If it were just the Byakugan, then Ryun truly wouldn't be interested.
But if it were the Cleavage Eye, or even the more advanced Tenseigan, then that would be a different matter entirely.
Currently, Ryun couldn't obtain the Tenseigan directly. To upgrade from the Cleavage Eye to the Tenseigan or a dōjutsu of an equivalent level, he would need a powerful bloodline talent or the support of more high-purity Byakugan eye power. Ryun estimated it would take at least a three-digit number of Byakugan at the level of Hinata and Hanabi to make up for the gap in bloodline power between an ordinary person and the Ōtsutsuki Clan.
However, just the Cleavage Eye was enough to compensate for another huge weakness Ryun currently had: his lack of a good method to deal with Obito's space-time ninjutsu.
With the Cleavage Eye, Hanabi could see where Ryun would appear after using the Flying Thunder God Technique, allowing her to reach a suitable position in advance to attack.
This meant that once Ryun mastered the Cleavage Eye, even if he still couldn't easily kill Obito, Obito would no longer be able to appear and disappear mysteriously in front of him or show off his intangibility.
Combined with Karin's Sage's Perception, once Obito appeared within a twenty-kilometer radius of Ryun, Ryun would be the one chasing after Obito!
However, to reach this level, it was clear he would need to operate in the real world for a while. The improvement in talent couldn't make up for the gap in eye power. Currently, only cloning could solve this problem.
After the Chunin Exams ended in these couple of days, Ryun would start making arrangements to build his own medical research laboratory.
Later, Ryun went to his desk and began to work. After an entire night passed, he had transcribed all the data related to Byakugan cloning from his memory.
To ensure rapid recording, he even used five Shadow Clones. After such high-intensity work, by the time early morning arrived the next day,
his bedroom was piled high with scrolls.
Putting down his pen, Ryun released the Shadow Clones and then sealed all the scrolls. With that, the precious data and information from within the simulation was more or less organized.
He yawned and went downstairs, only to find that Yūhi Kurenai had already put on an apron and prepared breakfast for Ryun and Anko.
The moment she saw Ryun, Kurenai put on a stern expression.
She hadn't forgotten how Ryun had teased her yesterday. She wanted to uphold her dignity, but then she saw how exhausted Ryun looked.
What was going on here?
Yesterday, Anko had slept in the room next to hers and hadn't gone to ambush Ryun in the middle of the night. Could Ryun have fallen ill from preparing that True Spirit Seal?
"Come here."
Without waiting for an explanation, Kurenai took Ryun's hand, made him sit at the dining table, reached out to feel his forehead, and then used medical ninjutsu to examine his body.
Discovering that Ryun was healthier than an ox and only mentally fatigued, she sighed and said, "I know you're thinking about Hinata, but you still need to ensure you rest well. Otherwise, if you collapse from illness, wouldn't that just make them worry?"
Ryun looked at Kurenai, touched, and said, "Is Sister Kurenai worried about me?"
Kurenai wanted to retort sharply, but in the end, she couldn't bear to hurt Ryun's feelings at this moment. She said, "Yes, I'm worried about you. You are, after all... my little brother, right."
"That's right, little brother!"
Anko chimed in from the side with a half-smile, only to be immediately attacked by Kurenai's spatula.
Ryun laughed happily, and soon the dining table was filled with laughter.
Ryun, Kurenai, and Anko's first day under the same roof had undoubtedly begun wonderfully.
After the meal, Kurenai left Ryun's house to officially inform Hinata and the others about the Chunin Exams.
Anko also had to continue preparing for the second round of the Chunin Exams, while Ryun also left home, planning to accidentally meet Karin.
Now, compared to when he had contacted Karin in the simulation, it was a day earlier. Therefore, Ryun didn't necessarily expect to meet Karin, but as it turned out, he happened to encounter the first day the Kusagakure ninjas entered the village.
There were seven Kusagakure ninjas in the group. Six walked in front, their faces full of excitement as they looked at Konoha's prosperity.
Bringing up the rear was a red-haired girl, carrying a huge pack alone. The immense weight bowed her head, making it impossible for her to look at the surrounding scenery.
Seeing that distinctive hair, Ryun frowned. That was undoubtedly Karin.
Ryun knew Karin had a hard life in Kusagakure. Despite possessing such a conspicuous Uzumaki clan bloodline talent, she was treated as a human blood pack to be bitten. It could only be said that these Kusagakure ninjas had neither vision nor brains.
Just as Ryun was thinking about whether to help, one of the ninjas yawned, then turned and grabbed Karin's hand, intending to bite her arm to replenish chakra.
The result was that just as Karin closed her eyes, preparing to endure the pain, a muffled grunt sounded. The Kusagakure genin had been sent flying by Ryun's kick, crashing into a tree in the distance.
As for Karin's hand, it had naturally come into Ryun's.
"Who are you?"
"Teach him a lesson!"
Several Kusagakure ninjas moved to act, but a middle-aged man at the lead stopped the impulsive children and sternly questioned Ryun.
He said, "Who are you, and why did you attack us? Do you know we are ninjas from Kusagakure? Do you know the consequences of arbitrarily attacking us?"
Ryun carefully sized up the few fellows. After confirming there were no acquaintances among them, he said, "I'm just a civilian from Konoha. I don't understand why you were about to bite such a girl. Is random biting a tradition of Kusagakure?"
Before acting, Ryun had actually considered whether intervening now would cause chaos in the later situation.
Then Ryun realized that if he ignored it now, he might not be able to be at peace with himself for a long time.
In this respect, he truly should learn from his simulation self.
The current Ryun was, of course, not yet at the Kage level.
But relying on his superb ninjutsu configuration, there were few among Konoha's current fighting force who could threaten his life.
Even if the situation truly got out of hand, Ryun could pull it back on track.
If he didn't even have this much confidence, with the simulator at his disposal, then all his previous efforts would have been for nothing.
So Ryun chose to act. As for cleaning up the aftermath afterward... didn't he have a personal bodyguard?
"A civilian?"
The middle-aged Kusagakure ninja looked Ryun over suspiciously a few times. After confirming Ryun didn't have a forehead protector, he revealed a mocking smile.
He said, "Although you have some strength, without a forehead protector, you're a civilian. Since that's the case, we won't stand on ceremony."
The middle-aged ninja had just raised his hand to signal, when he found his own hand seized by someone else.
Uzuki Yūgao's beautiful figure appeared behind him, her speed so fast that none of the Kusagakure ninjas could react.
"Kusagakure ninjas want to use violence against a Konoha civilian? Are you trying to start a war?"
Uzuki Yūgao's words were cold and merciless. Although she was only a Tokubetsu Jōnin, a Tokubetsu Jōnin from Konoha could serve as a Jōnin in Kusagakure. This imposing manner was clearly something these Kusagakure ninjas couldn't contend with.
Cold sweat immediately streamed down the middle-aged ninja's forehead. After hesitating for two seconds, he put on a fawning smile. Just as he was about to say something, his eyes rolled back in his head and he collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
The Kusagakure ninjas were terrified and immediately scattered.
Many ninjas who had come to take the exam in the vicinity also looked at Uzuki Yūgao in surprise, not expecting her to act so decisively.
Only Uzuki Yūgao herself knew... she hadn't done anything yet!
Uzuki Yūgao looked at Ryun, and Ryun winked at her.
