Chapter 256 The Flame Giant
To verify this experience point, Finney was exhausted.
Firstly, he didn't want to kill all the fire demons, so he had to control his power. Secondly, due to the resistance to 'Explosion Magic,' he could only use physical attacks.
Fighting a full thousand fire demons nearly killed him; he had to use 'Zafkiel: Fourth Bullet' twice to recover and barely survive.
The test results showed that although there were still many fire demons, Finney didn't want to continue fighting.
Even after the time reversal, he was still extremely tired, and the remaining fire demons seemed to be less than a thousand. Based on a thousand experience points as the critical point, it was likely that the number wouldn't change until around two thousand.
Finney used the Flying Technique to fly into the air. The fire demons couldn't fly and could only look up blankly from the ground. Some of the slightly smarter ones climbed the walls and jumped down to attack, but they didn't consider the possibility of falling to their deaths.
Then, Finney withdrew the water shield covering the 'Violet Chicken Roll,' which immediately startled the fire demons that had been attacking for hours.
Then came a surge of joy, as they thought they had finally succeeded, and they all swarmed towards the fried chicken rolls on the ground.
The fire demons, with their low intelligence, didn't consider whether this was a scheme by Finney or anything like that, and simply grabbed the 'Violet Chicken Rolls' and stuffed them into their mouths.
The remaining ones, still thinking about how to get Finney down, immediately joined in.
Although quite a few 'Violet Chicken Rolls' had been summoned, there were still at least five or six hundred fire demons left, and in the frenzy of fighting, they were all gone in just a few seconds.
Afterwards, they looked up at Finney again, a scene that made Finney almost laugh.
"Since I'm in a good mood, I'll give you all a good meal this time!"
Because the system experience issue had finally been validated, Finney, though exhausted, was in an exceptionally good mood.
Then, a rain of 'Sensual Chicken Nuggets' began to fall from the sky.
Today was a very significant day for the fire demons here; they had suffered pain they had never experienced before, but also reaped joy they had never known before.
Of course, this referred to those fire demons who hadn't yet been knocked to the ground by Finney.
As for those lying on the ground, unable to get up, they were truly miserable, having simply endured the greatest pain of their lives.
Finney had summoned the fire demons for nearly half an hour to satisfy their enormous appetites, and by then, almost all of them were lying on the ground.
Some had been beaten, while others were stuffed.
Therefore, after Finney descended from the sky, the fire demons didn't choose to attack him again, but simply stared at him with their reddened eyes.
"Where is your king?"
Finney asked one of the stuffed fire demons at random.
He vaguely remembered some fire demons discussing whether to bring him to the king, whom he suspected was highly likely the true fire giant, Surtur.
In his prime, Surtur was incredibly powerful; based on the original storyline, a single sword strike could completely destroy Asgard—a destructive force far beyond his current capabilities.
But that was Surtur in his prime, aided by the prophecy.
The current Surtur was at best a match for Thor, perhaps slightly stronger considering Thor hadn't lost his family.
Hearing Finney's question, the fire demon paused, staring at Finney before asking, "Who are you?"
Finney felt a bit exasperated. He had introduced himself twice from the beginning, and now this guy was asking who he was?!
"A mage from Kamar-Taj, here to deliver a gift to your king!"
Phine didn't mention sparring anymore. He casually summoned a chicken nugget roll, waved it in front of them, and said, "Here's a gift!"
Although they were all too full to move, Fire Demon couldn't help but open his mouth when he saw the 'Violet Chicken Nugget Roll' Phine had summoned.
"Do you know the location?"
Phine handed him the 'Violet Chicken Nugget Roll' and asked again.
Fire Demon took the chicken nugget roll, and after hearing Phine's words, the intellectually challenged Fire Demon thought for a moment and said, "The King doesn't want to be disturbed."
"I'm delivering a gift, not disturbing you!"
Phine had a feeling of deceiving a primary school student.
However, Fire Demon's intelligence was even lower than that of a primary school student. Hearing this, he said without much thought, "Then I'll take you there!"
The reason Fire Demon was still willing to contact Phine, even after Phine had defeated so many of them, was that Phine only killed one unlucky guy, and the rest of Fire Demons were at most seriously injured.
Most importantly, it was the 'Violet Chicken Nuggets Roll'. Its 'joyful' attribute brought them the happiest feeling of their lives, which made them develop a fondness for Finney.
So even though Finney had defeated so many people, they were still willing to interact with him.
Because he had eaten too much, the fire demon was too full to walk, so Finney had to wait for him to digest before moving again, and he also needed to rest and recover.
Resting inside a volcano was an experience Finney had never had before, but fortunately, with the assistance of the 'Golden Great Evolution Technique,' he could still endure it.
Glancing at the slowly flowing lava in the distance, Finney focused his attention on the system.
Although he had defeated over a thousand fire demons this time, the experience he gained wasn't much, only about five points, roughly equivalent to five days of skill training. This
was because the fire demons were too weak; although their fire resistance was extremely high, their physical resistance was abysmal.
Until quantitative change leads to qualitative change, they were merely cannon fodder, hence the pitifully low experience gain.
After resting for about an hour, some of the fire demons that had been defeated earlier had recovered, so much so that he summoned more chicken nuggets to soothe the wounded.
Finney had expected the fire demon to lead him out, but instead, it led him underground.
Looking at the dark, deep underground entrance before him, Finney took out the 'Ocean Pearl,' activated its 'glowing' attribute, and followed the fire demon into the cave.
The winding underground passage was somewhat arduous for Finney, but extremely easy for the fire demon, who was adept at climbing and possessed night vision.
After walking for two whole hours, when Finney was starting to wonder if he had been tricked, he finally saw a glimmer of light ahead.
Emerging from the cave, Finney let out a long sigh of relief and immediately looked around.
Below him was a spacious hall, with a throne on the empty floor upon which sat a fire giant that appeared to be made of magma.
Beside him lay a longsword, seemingly asleep.
"That's our king!"
the fire demon said, pointing at the fire giant. Then it started to climb down a nearby pillar. Only then did Phine notice that there were many times more fire demons hanging on the surrounding walls and pillars than before.
It might be a little later tonight...
