Chapter 240 - Chapter 243 Heading to Jotunheim

  Chapter 243 Heading to Jotunheim

While the news Phineas spoke of had some effect on the dwarves, its impact wasn't actually that significant.

Thanos's dominance across the universe wasn't based on intrigue or trickery, but on his powerful army and strength. Although the dwarves were enormous, in actual combat, aside from their immense strength, they didn't possess any particularly special abilities.

Moreover, their numbers were scarce; there were only three hundred and one dwarves at the entire Nidavellir forge. Even if Thanos came alone, let alone with his army, the dwarves might not be able to withstand him.

Eitrie pondered seriously. Dwarves were absolutely loyal to their friends, so he still believed that Asgard would protect them.

However, the prophecy of Ragnarok wasn't a secret; even Eitrie knew about it, so he still felt some apprehension.

Seeing the expression on Etri's face, Finney pondered for a moment before finally saying, "If this really happens, do you have any way to contact me? Let me know, and I'll come help."

"Although I don't have the Rainbow Bridge, I have a portal spell that will get me there immediately!"

After thinking it over, Finney felt it would be best to help if possible. Besides, he and Thanos would inevitably clash sooner or later, and preventing Thanos from obtaining the Infinity Gauntlet would weaken his power.

Etri was somewhat surprised. Although he didn't know Finney's exact strength, he knew Finney was quite powerful. Defeating Thor was one thing, but Finney had also wiped out nearly ten thousand people in Vanaheim with a single move, earning him the title of 'White Butcher,' demonstrating his terrifying strength.

  "Thank you!"

Etri thanked him. Although it was all still uncertain, he was deeply moved by Finney's actions.

Afterward, Finney received a hammer-shaped, exquisitely crafted device. While it couldn't be used for communication, it would receive unique distress signals at extremely fast speeds and change accordingly if the dwarves were in trouble.

Phineas had originally planned to leave once the magic wand was finished, but out of respect for Itri, he stayed an extra week.

During that week, all the dwarves tried their best to research 'Possessed by Evil,' and Phineas actively cooperated as long as it wasn't destructive.

However, the results were far from satisfactory. Even as Phineas was preparing to leave, they still hadn't figured out how to forge 'Possessed by Evil.'

They didn't even fully understand what metals were used in the forging process. Ultimately, they only managed to study the conversion between swords and armor, gaining inspiration to create a weapon mold with a second form—not a complete failure.

The failure with 'Possessed by Evil' deeply discouraged the dwarves, and they were extremely reluctant to see Phineas leave.

"Can't you stay a little longer?"

Itri pleaded with Phineas to stay. "We have fine wine and food here, and we can contact Asgard to get you anything you want."

  "I'm so sorry!"

Phineas shook his head, looking at Itri. "I've already stayed a long time. I'll come back again next time I have the chance!"

  "Alright!"

Seeing that Phineas had made up his mind, Itri didn't insist. He knelt down and gave Phineas a hug, saying reluctantly, "I hope you can come visit again soon, my friend!"

  "Goodbye!"

Phineas waved with a smile, then, holding the magic staff he had finally named 'Breath of the White Dragon,' he walked to an open space and shouted to the sky, "Hildam!"

Although he could return to Asgard by opening a portal himself, it would require the power of the Space Stone and a lot of effort. Since he had a free tool to use, why should he go to all that trouble himself?

A beam of seven-colored light descended from the sky, instantly enveloping Phineas's figure, and he disappeared amidst the reluctant and lingering gazes of the dwarves.

Back at the Asgardian Observatory, Finney found Heimdall still all alone, pulling his longsword from the activation device of the Bifrost.

"I didn't expect you to be so popular with the dwarves!"

Heimdall exclaimed, looking at Finney wielding the 'Breath of the White Dragon.'

"Being handsome! What can I do?"

Finney shrugged, a narcissistic expression on his face, and asked Heimdall, "Has anything happened on Earth lately?"

  "Your family is all well!"

Finney nodded reassuringly. He'd been away for almost two months, and including Asgard, he'd only visited three places. He needed to hurry.

After bidding farewell to Heimdall, Finney returned to the Asgardian palace, sent someone to report to Odin, and then tried to find Thor and the Warriors Three, only to discover they were no longer in Asgard.

Besides Vanaheim, many other places were embroiled in war, so the group had been sent out to investigate.

Seeing this, Phineas didn't pay much attention. He hadn't planned to stay long anyway, so the next day he found Odin and asked to go to Jotunheim.

"You want to go to Jotunheim?"

Odin's face showed a hint of surprise as he looked at the nodding Phineas and asked in a deep voice, "The environment there is harsh, covered in ice and snow, and the Frost Giants don't have a friendly relationship with Asgard and humans. What are you going there for?"

"I want to see the scenery of each of the Nine Realms. I'll go to Jotunheim sooner or later, so I might as well put the harsh environment first,"

Phineas answered frankly. He was telling the truth, though there were some things he didn't say, such as wanting to take the opportunity to gain experience with the Frost Giants and Frost Beasts.

Odin looked at Phineas, his gaze deep and solemn.

Ever since Phineas arrived in Asgard, he had been secretly observing him. Even as the Allfather, having lived for countless years, he still couldn't see through Phineas's true nature.

Even the Ancient One hadn't given him this feeling. While he could sense the Ancient One's power, he could also see it clearly, and he even knew about Dormammu's dark energy.

But Phineas was the first person he had never truly understood. His mysterious and unpredictable abilities, his unknowable future and trajectory, all deeply surprised him. Therefore,

he was cautious and prudent in his attitude towards Phineas. Although he didn't necessarily want Phineas to help him break the Ragnarok prophecy, he had considered this option.

"Asgard won't restrict your freedom, but Jotunheim recently lost their king and suffered some damage, so I hope you can show them some leniency. I don't want to see any more war!"

Odin, though unaware of Phineas's purpose, had some understanding of his style, so he looked at Phineas with a warning and said.

  "Okay!"

Phineas nodded calmly. He wasn't one to kill indiscriminately. Although he might have the intention of gaining experience, he wouldn't easily kill as long as the other party didn't go too far.
