The atmosphere in the room grew heavy. Every gaze fixed upon the blurry photograph displayed on the screen. In the picture, the woman bearing the face of Dahlia Thorne, a face that had clearly undergone surgical alteration, was looking down at a young child wearing an A-01 bracelet.
Lucas Hill let out an uncontrollable gasp of surprise.
"This is not right." His fingers paused above the keyboard, his eyes narrowing behind the frames of his glasses: "This image is not located in any of Eden's archival repositories."
Ethan Caldwell stepped closer to the screen.
Lucas Hill continued, his voice fast and low: "I tracked the digital footprint. It was not scanned from the internal servers, there are no watermarks, and there is absolutely no CORE identification code. I have checked, and there is no compatible timestamp with Eden at any given period."
He opened a command line window, typed in a query, and then came to a halt before a generated result.
