Amaha Byakuya was now a Master's student at Kamii University, focusing his research on political science.
Originally, he had no interest in politics. But sitting in the position of Director General, he found himself with little choice.
Due to the previous Tokyo Defense Battle, Byakuya had not only dealt with Prison but had also swept up the entire Cabinet in one fell swoop.
He had even used Prison's special forces to capture and eliminate all the Cabinet ministers who had gone into hiding.
The current Cabinet ministers, including the Prime Minister, were essentially all his puppets.
He could put whoever he wanted in power. All they had to do was follow orders—if they didn't, they'd be eliminated and replaced.
As for the Emperor... that was nothing more than a figurehead among figureheads. Byakuya couldn't even be bothered to pay attention, since the Emperor couldn't stir up any waves whatsoever.
This made Byakuya's position in Japan equivalent to—or even higher than—"Five-Star Emperor" MacArthur.
So... when it came to many important matters, the Cabinet would consult Byakuya first before making any decisions.
But because he basically knew nothing about politics, each time he could only review whether the Cabinet's proposals had any issues. If there were no problems, he'd approve them; if there were, he'd reject them outright. He couldn't offer better suggestions.
While power was the ultimate authority, in this situation, he really did need to learn more about political science.
So after completing his undergraduate degree, Byakuya had chosen to pursue a Master's in Political Science at Kamii University.
Of course, he hadn't pulled strings to get in—he had entered through proper exams and supervisor contacts.
With the Rinnegan, studying was effortlessly simple for him.
Now, Byakuya spent most of each day in his private study, researching political science texts.
Indeed, the school had provided him with a dedicated study room, its shelves filled with various political science books.
This had essentially become his second office. While studying, he could also handle matters from the Tokyo Security Bureau.
Today was no exception—Byakuya was reading in his study again.
Knock knock—
Just then, Byakuya heard a gentle knock at the door.
"Come in."
At that, a tall young woman in a maid uniform entered. "Director General Amaha, there's a young woman who claims to be a friend of yours wanting to see you. She appears to be a student at our university."
This was also a maid the school had specially arranged for him...
Actually, she was just a female student from the school working part-time. The pay seemed quite good.
Though Byakuya felt this arrangement was somewhat inappropriate, he hadn't refused.
After all, having a maid to serve tea and prevent outsiders from barging into his study wasn't a bad thing.
"A female student from the same school?"
Byakuya pondered, then asked, "What's her name?"
He thought of Hinami, but besides her, there were other girls he knew at Kamii University, so he wanted to confirm first.
"The name on her student ID is Fueguchi Hinami."
The maid replied.
"Let her in."
Byakuya said immediately.
"Understood."
The maid bowed, then left the study, carefully closing the door behind her.
