Not long after, Terumi Mei's beautiful eyes suddenly lit up, and a charming smile curled at the corners of her lips.
She slowly approached Namikaze Kirito, her soft, glossy lips parting slightly.
"Be my man. If you agree, I'll have Kirigakure brought under your banner."
Namikaze Kirito looked at the stunning face right in front of him, expression turning playful.
This woman had said she'd put Kirigakure under his banner—not under Konoha's.
And the condition of the two of them being together… was all for the sake of her own village.
Once Kirigakure became Namikaze Kirito's subordinate force, then with Terumi Mei as his woman, even if she had to compete with other factions, who would dare try to push her around?
After all, she'd be the "first lady" of his camp.
Kirito could see perfectly well how cunning the woman in front of him truly was, but he didn't dislike it.
Smart people could save him a lot of time. And on top of that, this woman was one of the absolute top-tier beauties in the entire shinobi world—no matter how he looked at it, he wasn't losing out.
Thinking that, Namikaze Kirito reached out and hooked a finger under her round, delicate chin, then pulled her in close.
…
Some time later, Terumi Mei finally pushed Namikaze Kirito away with a light shove, staying seated in his lap as she took a few breaths of fresh air. When she spoke again, there was a hint of mock-complaint in her tone.
"I'm telling you… even if I agreed to be your woman, you can't just go that hard right away! I almost died!"
"Hahaha, I thought you'd use your Kekkei Genkai," Kirito teased. "But looks like you didn't dare."
Faced with Namikaze Kirito's playfully mocking tone, Terumi Mei's heart skipped. She had thought about using it just now and then immediately remembered Kirito's bizarre ability.
That was why she hadn't dared make a move.
She didn't expect him to notice that split-second hesitation.
Her heart was flustered, but her face was still full of seductive charm.
"How could I?" she said sweetly. "You know what I want most is to find a man and actually get married. Why would I do something so cruel?"
"Really? But you just now—"
Just as Namikaze Kirito was about to say more, his Observation Haki suddenly picked up something. His expression shifted, and he stood up, looking off into the distance.
"What's wrong?"
Seeing his face change, Terumi Mei had no idea what had happened.
"Looks like an unexpected guest came to visit," Kirito said lightly. "Head back for now. I accept your terms."
He didn't answer Terumi Mei's question directly. After saying that, his figure vanished from where he stood.
Terumi Mei stared in the direction he had been looking, lost in thought.
She didn't know who had appeared… but the strange unease rising in her chest made her feel anything but calm.
In a grove outside of Konohagakure—
A mid-range battle was underway. A young man stood in front, shielding a blond boy behind him, facing off against a pale man.
The pale man was holding a strange red fishing rod.
"Hey! How long are you two brats from Gensokyo planning to chase me?" the pale man complained lazily. "Is it really okay for you to be running around in this era?"
The pale-faced man was Urashiki Ōtsutsuki, who would appear in the Boruto era. And the young man and blond boy facing him were Sasuke and Boruto.
Hidden in the shadows nearby, Namikaze Kirito watched carefully.
The young Sasuke's hands were still intact, and in his eye sockets… a pair of Rinnegan.
The original timeline's plot had changed dramatically.
Then again, Namikaze Kirito had already turned the entire shinobi world upside down. It was only natural that what would've happened in the Boruto era would change accordingly.
"Urashiki Ōtsutsuki," young Sasuke said coldly. "Did you really think you could just escape to this era and take the Nine-Tails so easily?"
"Stop dreaming. He exists in this era—the legendary man."
As he said this, a trace of reverence flashed through Sasuke's eyes.
"Huh?"
Urashiki dug a finger in his ear with a bored look.
"The legendary man? Who's that supposed to be? The leader of your Gensokyo?"
"That's right."
Young Sasuke nodded, answering without hesitation.
"So your plan is doomed from the start. Give up on trying to run."
"Pff—ahahahaha!"
Momoshiki burst into laughter, covering his face with one hand, expression full of arrogance.
"Oh, I'm so scared," he drawled mockingly. "Hey, where is this 'leader' you mentioned, anyway? That guy who disappeared with that traitor Kaguya… If I meet him in this era, I'll kill him without a second thought."
"Shut up, you scum!"
The blond boy, Boruto, roared furiously.
"You're not allowed to insult my uncle, you bastard!"
"The son of the Nine-Tails' jinchūriki, huh? And you think you can talk to me like that?"
Momoshiki casually swung the red fishing rod, the hook streaking straight toward Boruto's head.
"Shinra Tensei!"
Young Sasuke stepped in front of Boruto, raising a hand as he activated the power of his Rinnegan.
An invisible repulsive force exploded outward, directly blasting the hook away.
Seeing this, Urashiki didn't look surprised at all. He simply recalled the fishing line and spoke again.
"In this era, you people of Gensokyo haven't fully grown yet. Once I capture the Nine-Tails' jinchūriki, your entire organization will be wiped out by me. Of course, I'll also go pay that so-called leader of yours a visit."
He narrowed his eyes, voice dripping with contempt.
"I'll make sure he learns the hard way that the Ōtsutsuki clan isn't to be taken lightly."
From his hiding spot, Namikaze Kirito listened to their conversation, eyes widening slightly.
…He'd come to watch someone else's drama, only to realize he was the one on center stage.
From this exchange alone, he could pull out several important pieces of information.
First: at some point in the future, he disappeared together with Kaguya for unknown reasons.
Second: just like in the original Boruto storyline, Urashiki was here to hunt tailed beasts and reclaim the God Tree.
Third: Gensokyo really would gain a firm foothold in the entire shinobi world in the future.
Even if Namikaze Kirito wasn't around, there would still be people capable of standing against the Ōtsutsuki clan.
That alone proved that all the power he'd worked so hard to build hadn't been for nothing.
"Then you're staying right here!"
Young Sasuke didn't know exactly what point in time this was, but he definitely didn't want Momoshiki heading straight for Konoha. If their leader truly was still in his infancy, wouldn't that be handing the enemy an easy win?
As a proud cadre of Gensokyo, there was no way he could let the enemy get anywhere near their objective.
"Planetary Devastation!"
Sasuke raised one hand, and countless stones and boulders tore free of the ground, swirling into the sky and converging around Momoshiki.
But Momoshiki didn't panic.
The Byakugan in his pupils suddenly shifted in shape—turning into a pair of blue Rinnegans.
Facing the forming Planetary Devastation, he only had to blink.
The sealing technique collapsed in an instant.
"Brat, there's an essential difference between your Rinnegan and mine," Momoshiki said coldly. "If you think you can beat me with that level of control, you're far too naïve."
The words had barely left his mouth before his figure vanished.
He reappeared an instant later right beside the two of them, thrusting forward with the fishing rod in his hand.
Clang!
A mass of purple chakra erupted from young Sasuke's body.
Susanoo.
The absolute defense born from the Sharingan.
With an ambush at that speed, only this dōjutsu could block the attack in time.
