POV: Eve
The Seraphim Court felt different now.
Eve stood in the grand hall where she'd first faced Corvus's challenge, where she'd exposed his conspiracy, where she'd proven that truth and evidence mattered more than power and politics.
Now, six months later, the Court had stabilized into a new equilibrium.
Corvus was in permanent exile, his sentence handed down by the full Council after investigation proved his conspiracy extended beyond just the fabricated Fae claim to include attempts to manipulate other factions through financial influence and political pressure.
Aldric had faced similar exile, his knowledge and expertise now stripped from the Court's legal systems. Without him, the old guard had lost one of their most valuable assets.
And the Fae seat, the seat that had been vacant for two centuries...was now formally filled.
