Chapter 157 - Chapter 157 — Chaos in Haotian

Clear Sky Sect · Internal Strife Fully Ignites

When Li Rong mentioned using Ōtsutsuki Kaguya as a counterbalance, Bi Ji's brows knitted tightly.

"What did she do?" Bi Ji asked in a low voice.

Having followed Li Rong for so long, she no longer used the respectful title of "Master" for the Silver Dragon King. Respect remained—but trust clearly did not.

Li Rong sighed, rubbing his temples.

"The Silver Dragon King's strength on the Douluo Continent is practically without peer," he said slowly. "And that overwhelming power made her overly confident in her own judgment."

Bi Ji's eyes sharpened.

"She interfered?"

Li Rong nodded helplessly.

"She was persuaded to support Tang San… and directly helped the Tang Sect swallow the Clear Sky Sect."

Bi Ji's expression darkened instantly.

"She allowed Spirit Beasts to meddle in the internal conflicts of human sects?" Her voice dropped several degrees. "Does she not understand what that means?"

For the Spirit Beast race—who had only just begun to secure a future through the Sacrificial Shop—this was an extremely dangerous line to cross. Once Spirit Beasts were perceived as active participants in human power struggles, centuries of hostility could reignite overnight.

Seeing Bi Ji's anger, Li Rong chose not to explain verbally. Instead, he raised his hand.

A translucent virtual screen unfolded between them.

Night · Clear Sky Sect · Inner Grounds

Moonlight spilled across stone corridors. The air was heavy with silence.

Tang San stood with his back turned, fists clenched behind him.

Behind him, Tang Yuehua watched quietly, her emotions tightly restrained.

"Have you considered it?" Tang Yuehua finally spoke, forcing her tone to remain calm.

She had waited years—endured humiliation, grief, and helplessness. Tonight was the closest she had ever been to avenging Tang Hao.

"My foster father's kindness to me is heavier than a mountain," Tang San replied firmly, without turning around. "I will never betray him."

His words were righteous. Resolute.

Then he added, "Because of our aunt–nephew bond, I will pretend this conversation never happened."

"Aunt… you should stop."

A faint, cold smile appeared on Tang Yuehua's lips.

Tang San spoke of Tang Xiao—but not once did he mention the Clear Sky Sect itself. His stance was clearer than he realized.

"We're not asking you to betray your father," Tang Yuehua said gently. "We are correcting the Clear Sky Sect's mistakes."

She stepped closer.

"Little San, you received the Sect's complete inheritance. Now that the Sect has gone astray, shouldn't you step forward and guide it back?"

Her voice softened deliberately.

"As for your father… he was merely misled by Tang Lie for a time. Once order is restored, he will naturally awaken."

Tang San hesitated.

"…If the Sect is truly in danger, I cannot refuse," he said at last. "But how will you deal with my foster father?"

Tang Yuehua sighed softly.

"At that time, he will no longer be suitable to remain within the Clear Sky Sect," she said. "Why not have him accompany you to the Tang Sect?"

Her eyes flickered.

"This fulfills your bond and removes a hidden danger. When your Tang Sect truly stands on its own, it will need a peak powerhouse. He can protect it—and restrain Tang Wei should he turn ruthless."

At the mention of the Tang Sect, Tang San's breathing subtly changed.

"For the revival of the Sect," he said solemnly, "I will give everything."

After Tang San left, the night grew still again.

Moments later, a shadow emerged.

The First Elder—Tang Wei.

"What does Little San think?" Tang Wei asked, barely concealing his eagerness.

"He agrees," Tang Yuehua answered smoothly. "He believes the Sect's foundation must not be shaken."

Tang Wei exhaled deeply, visibly relieved.

"A good child… but he will suffer for a while."

He waved his hand.

"Tell him the Sect will never forget his contribution. His future resources will only increase."

He paused, then added magnanimously, "After this rectification, I will allow Tang Hao's memorial to be moved into the Sect burial grounds. I will personally preside."

Tang Yuehua knelt immediately.

"First Elder's benevolence… Yuehua will never forget."

Tang Wei nodded in satisfaction.

"Continue intensifying the conflict within Haotian Academy," he said coldly. "Purge the disciples of other surnames. Leave none."

Only after Tang Wei vanished did Tang Yuehua finally straighten.

Her hands trembled as she retrieved two recording stones hidden in the shadows.

Tang Lie.

Tang Wei.

Tang Xiao.

Every one of them had forced her brother to death.

None were innocent.

Clear Sky Sect · Days Later

"Something is wrong."

Tang Xiao's expression was grave.

Since Boss Li had departed with a large group of geniuses, the Genius Competition Board had undergone violent reshuffling. Empty slots had appeared—and competition had turned brutal.

Initially, the Clear Sky Sect had held the advantage.

Tang San.

Tang Long.

Both had entered the top twenty.

But as academy factions surged, their rankings slid relentlessly.

Now only Tang San remained—clinging to nineteenth place.

Tang Lie and Tang Xiao reacted decisively, diverting resources to Haotian Academy, nurturing disciples of different surnames in an attempt to raise new contenders.

But First Elder Tang Wei opposed them at every turn.

"Concentrate on Tang bloodline disciples," he insisted.

Elder meetings devolved into shouting matches.

As Tang San's ranking continued to fall—and resources were siphoned away—more elders quietly shifted toward Tang Wei.

They had not yet spoken openly.

But Tang Xiao and Tang Lie could feel the ground moving beneath their feet.

"What exactly is he planning?" Tang Lie muttered, staring into the distance.

Haotian Academy had become a battlefield.

Tang Long and Tang Hu led Tang-surname disciples.

Tang San's Tang Sect became the refuge for outsiders.

Verbal disputes turned into armed clashes.

Students were injured.

Talents withdrew.

New applicants dwindled.

Tang Xiao slammed his palm against the table.

"He's forcing a choice. Either we offend Tang-surname disciples completely—or we drive all outsiders away."

"Which sect doesn't cultivate outsiders?!" Tang Lie roared. "Continue like this and our reputation will rot!"

Seven Treasure Academy recruited openly.

The Heaven Dou Empire married geniuses into royalty.

Even declining powers adapted.

Yet Tang Wei clung to "bloodline purity."

Spirit purity?

Tang Lie nearly laughed himself sick.

Xiang Jingyu—ranked first—didn't even rely on his Spirit.

"This cannot continue," Tang Lie said coldly at last. "If he won't bend… we must act."

"…Force?" Tang Xiao hesitated.

"If Tang San falls out of the top twenty, we lose everything," Tang Lie replied. "Strength decides legitimacy. We win—and stabilize."

After a long silence, Tang Xiao nodded.

"…Then we proceed."

Family Assembly · Burial Grounds

The argument erupted almost instantly.

Tang Wei's voice thundered.

"Do you still respect the Sect's honor?! Why should outsiders consume our resources?!"

"This is the age of academies!" Tang Lie countered. "Isolation means extinction!"

"Thunder Academy has no top-twenty disciples, yet the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan thrives!"

"They have twin stars!" Tang Lie shouted. "What do we have?!"

The elders divided.

When Tang Lie called for opinions, the imbalance was obvious.

Tang Wei sneered.

"I propose the impeachment of Tang Lie."

Tang Lie answered with spirit power.

"Our Sect chooses the strong," he said coldly. "Not nominees."

Tang Wei laughed.

"Then fight."

The forbidden area.

Two figures shot skyward.

Tang Xiao rushed to follow—but was blocked.

"Internal disgrace," the Second Elder said calmly.

Only Tang Xiao went alone.

As the moonlight swallowed the forbidden peaks, one truth became undeniable—

The Clear Sky Sect had crossed the point of no return.
